They do not lock in place and the head is 3.5cm long, plus the cable bend, you are looking at needing around 5-6 cm clearance, so this is not suited for a clean build with hard drives mounted in the back of the case.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not perfect These are quite good but they have an issue with build quality as the lock-in clips can fall off far to easily and this can lead to installation issues, but still thay can be fixed and they do the job they are made for and once installed look nice, so not a total waste of money. like I said in the title of this review good but not perfect.
