SMITE - Isis, Goddess of the Middle Lane

Isis is known in smite as the goddess of magic, which makes her the perfect figure take control of the middle lane. In this guide you too can rule the middle lane, like the Goddess of Magic. To start out as Isis you have to remember that between Spirit Ball and Dispel Magic you can stop any other champion in their tracks. That being said Isis does have a lack of escape especially if you’re using Wing Gust for damage. To start out my build I take the recommended starters, Vampiric Shroud, Lost Artifact and two of each potion. For the first ability Wing Gust is the option to go with, as it will be the primary source of damage for this build.
Wing Gust should be the first ability you focus leveling, it is your clear and main source of damage. However, in order to better counter the mage you will be laning against take all three of your primary abilities before building into Wing Gust. At level four take your second point into Wing Gust and naturally take your ultimate at five. From there on out build into Wing Gust until level eight. At level eight do not take any abilities so that at level nine Wing Gust will be maxed out and you can have a the second point in your ultimate. From there build into Spirit Ball and then Dispel Magic, Taking points into Circle of Protection whenever possible.
To follow up building Lost Artifact, take Doom Orb with the recent reduction in its price one can start building stacks at just about the time the mid camps come up (approximately three minutes). This is when you will want to be most careful, getting ganked or shut down while stacking is just about one of the few things that can set you back.

After finishing Doom Orb your focus on your Isis’ biggest down fall. Mobility . In order to address her lack of mobility first and foremost you’ll want your boots. I would highly recommend getting Shoes of the Magi getting more magic power over cool down reduction. However, what Isis really needs is an escape, which means Combat Blink is the way to go. The most important thing about giving Isis an alternative escape is that, it allows her Wing Gust to be used as her primary damage ability.

The next item to build is Bancroft’s Talon. Bancroft’s, however, can be built while you’re still in the process of building Combat Blink. Brancroft’s Talon gives not only lifesteal, but empowers Isis when she’s at lower health which can give you the edge when going one-on-one. Once you completed Bancroft’s you can then sell Vampiric Shroud for to get some gold back.

Doom Orb, Shoes, and Bancroft’s Talon will be the items you carry into the mid game. Here on out there are a lot of choices available to you as a player. If you feel as though there are too many protections on the opposing team, then Obsidian Shard is the path to go. Personally I like to opt for more power instead picking up Soul Reaver personally, but I only usually make this choice if I am ahead in a fight.

Victory

On the note of games going bad, should a dying streak come to prevent you from keeping your Doom Orb stacks, selling it is a perfectly fine option. However, if you are going to pursue this option you should find an option to help adjust to the enemy team. There are a few options available here, if you are having issues with crowd control from the enemy team Magi’s Blessing is the way to go. Don’t be afraid to pick up protections if the enemy has an over whelming amount of physical or magical damage. Even movement speed can be beneficial, if you’re finding yourself out of position or just can’t escape the enemy.

Active items can be useful for many situations. While the first slot has already been filled with combat blink, the second, however, can be used to best counter the abilities of the enemy team. Purification Beads is a must have for gods with high crowd control, Ares, Fenrir and Hun Batz most notably. Either Aegis is great for avoiding damage, personally I prefer Aegis Pendant for the ability to better position while avoiding damage. Otherwise, weakening or enfeebling curse can allow you to continue to be aggressive.

Lastly, as for your consumables one of each potion is good until Doom Orb is finished. When you have finished Doom Orb warding is going to become more and more important. As mentioned earlier getting taken by surprise and dying while stacking shuts down this build very quickly. The way to avoid this is warding, buy wards every time you go back. Place the wards around the mid camps in the paths that lead into the middle lane. I usually get two wards and two multi potions each trip back.
