Intel Core i3 Socket 1151 Kaby Lake Processors

These 7th Generation Intel Core dual-core processors are much faster than the cheaper Celeron and Pentium models thanks to having more cache memory and support for Hyper-Threading which enables them to process up to four threads at a time. Due to their higher frequency and larger cache Core i3's are much faster than Pentiums, and are the cheapest CPU we recommend for a more intensive tasks such as gaming and image editing.

Please note: In order to use an Intel 100 Series Motherboard with these 7th Gen. CPUs, you will need to ensure the motherboard is running the latest BIOS version before installing the CPU.

These new high-end Core X CPUs are based on the Kaby Lake X architecture but are designed to fit into the new Socket 2066 and so require an Intel X299 motherboard. These quad-core CPUs are intended to provide a cost-effective starting point for the Intel Core X series, and thanks for their oversize heatspreader can run at higher frequencies than standard Kaby Lake CPUs.

As the LGA2066 socket has the same external dimensions as LGA2011-3 you can use any of these coolers with a LGA2066 CPU.
