Solid State Drives

SSDs (Solid State Drives) are the fastest type of data storage device, cutting game and application load times while boosting overall system responsiveness versus HDDs (Hard Disk Drives). SSDs are more resilient and consume less power than HDDs, making them an ideal choice for laptops.

As there are a number of types of SSD, it's important to pick one that is compatible with your system. These include tiny mSATA and M.2 drives that connect directly to the motherboard, plus larger 2.5in SATA drives and add-in-card drives that plug directly into a PCIe slot like a graphics or sound card.

We also stock a range of SSDs specifically designed for servers, such as M.2, U.2, U.3 and E1.S. These server SSDs are designed for 24/7 usage and differ from consumer SSDs in having greater endurance, more consistent performance and longer warranties.

You can find what sort of SSDs your system supports in your component documentation or our buyers guides.
