DDR3 Dual Channel - (1800MHz +)

DDR3 memory is the most common memory. Excluding Intel X99, all current generation Intel and AMD desktop chipsets (and many previous generations too) use it. These high-end kits range from 4GB to 16GB with speeds from 1,866MHz to 3,000MHz – you may need to enabled the memory's XMP (Extreme Memory Profile) in your motherboard's BIOS to run it at full speed. Each kit has two identical sticks – they're designed for motherboards with just two slots or with four slots that need to be filled in pairs. 08/04/15

GeForce GTX 1060 - (1280 Cores)

The 6GB version of the GeForce GTX 1060 mid-range graphics card has more cores than the 3GB version (1280 versus 1152) and so runs games faster. As the third card based on the new Pascal architecture it not only runs games faster than previous generation Maxwell cards, but consumes less power and is quieter. 18/08/16

SATA III (6 Gb/s) - 320GB - 2TB

2.5” drives are significantly smaller than standard 3.5” ones, making them great candidates for upgrading the storage of your laptop or games console, especially as they're available in capacities up to 2TB. Remember to check the height of the drives, as most portable or console systems only have bays which support 9.5mm drives or less. Also pay attention to the spin speed in rpm; while all drive here use the latest SATA III 6Gbps interface, faster spinning drives will read and write data faster. 08/04/15

SSD - 2.5" - SATA III - (240GB - 400GB)

SATA III 6Gb/s SSDs may no longer be the fastest around thanks to emerging PCIe SSDs, but they're the most cost-effective and are still easily fast enough for most users. You'll need a spare SATA 6Gb/s port to get the most from them, and a 2.5” capable drive bay – an adaptor may need to be bought, but most cases have at least one drive bay. Drives of these capacities can hold an operating system, many programs and a few games. 08/04/15

SSD - M.2 SATA

While the M.2 connector can be used for PCIe SSDs, the ones here are SATA 6Gb/s only, so the benefits over standard 2.5” SATA drives are to do with space-saving, not speed. They're perfect for small form factor systems and laptops, but make sure your M.2 slot works with SATA devices, and that it supports the SSD's size, both in length (2280 means 80mm long) and thickness. 08/04/15

SSD - SATA - Enterprise

These SSDs are ideal for businesses looking for reliable, long-lasting and efficient flash storage that will outpace any hard disk. Possible features include end-to-end data protection and full power-loss protection. Speeds are not as fast as PCIe-based drives, but prices are considerably lower and the SATA interface and 2.5” form factor means they're easy to implement in any desktop environment. 08/04/15
