Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Founders Edition 11GB GDDR5X VR Ready Graphics Card, 3584 Core, 1480MHz GPU, 1582MHz Boost is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic card shame about boost 3.0 As far as graphics go this card is awesome and you don't need me to tell you that everyone knows it. However boost 3.0 is annoying as it auto overclocks your card when you don't need it to. Most games and certainly the ones I've played so far on it run perfectly fine on the highest settings at 1440p it doesn't neeed to boost an extra 400mhz like it does. But what is annoying is this just means the card reaches its max temp of 84 degrees and then throttles and boosts back up again and throttles again which means your fps jumps all over the place which means not necessarily bad gaming experience but not as good as it can be. This can be solved though by increasing the fan speed on the card at different temps, you need some software to do that I use CAM as it syncs with my cpu AIO cooler (other software is available). 100% fan speed does the trick perfectly but it also sounds like a plane is taking off in your room so is a no no. After some playing around I found a fan curvature which kept the card at a max of 76 degrees which kept the clock speed stable and the fps more stable and wasn't ridiculously loud. This was still pretty noisy though, if you wear headphones to game this might work fine for you as I couldn't hear the fan to much with my headphones on, but If like me you have your other half in the room trying to watch the tv then this is also too loud. So to remedy this I put a AIO cooler onto the card and boom it's now boosting to its max and never going above 56 degrees with no noise and it's amazing. If you want to go this route you neee to be comfortably taking the card apart though (there are videos on YouTube) but you might just prefer to by a none reference card with better fans.
