Zotac GeForce GTX 1080 Ti AMP! Edition 11GB GDDR5X VR Ready Graphics Card, 3584 Core, 1569MHz GPU, 1683MHz Boost is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid, but runs hot Compared with an Asus Strix 1080 Ti in another rig: Pros: No coil whine Solid build and no droop RGB paraphernalia easily disconnected 2 slot cooler Cons: Runs at 76 C @1500 RPM vs 62 C @ 1200 RPM on Strix Boosts slightly lower (1916 vs 1926) Blue flashing LED behind backplate and green LED on power connectors so not exactly 'stealth' in case Overall, happy enough to have ordered a second but might need more case fans to keep temps in control (this is in a HAF-X case, so fairly roomy!)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Runs hot, with relatively low boost clock speed; and has compatability issues with my motherboard First, let's start with the good. The card is built like a tank - very good build quality. No coil vine. Fans are fairly quiet even at high RPM, and they do run at high RPM. Now to the bad. This card runs hot. Reviews of MSI and Gigabyte custom cooler designed 1080 Ti report temperatures of 65 under load, and fan speeds not going above 50%. This is not what I have seen with this card. My temps constantly hit 80 degrees, which is a default thermal threshold for this card. At that temperature, fans run at 2400 RPM, which is about 80% of the fan speed. Card does get rather loud under load, but it is not as loud as I would expect it to be at 80% fans. At idle card is running around 52 degrees with the "fans off" mode threshold set at 45 degrees, so in reality, fans never do spin down completely on the card. My case is Corsair Obsidian 550D - not the coolest out there, but with a decent air flow and positive pressure fan configuration. Temps, clocks, and fan speeds are captured using HWMonitor and MSI Afterburner. The thermal throttling leads to a lower clock speed than what most reviewers report. Average boost clock sits around 1900Mhz, which is still pretty good, but subpar to the 2000+ Mhz that most reviewers report. Games tested with: Mass Effect: Andromeda Witcher 3 Battlefield 4 Call of Duty Black Ops 3 The dealbreaker for me, however, was the fact that the card would prevent my Motherboard from POSTing correctly. Motherboard: MSI Z270 Gaming M5 with the latest BIOS. Boot sequence would get stuck at code 96, which looking around on the internet is PCI devices initialisation step. The only way to get it to boot was to unplug the card from power and reseat it in the PCI slot. Doesn't look like the issue is with the PCI slot, as coming back to my old GTX980, it works like a charm. Anyhow, it is still a GTX 1080 Ti, so performance is still incredible compared to my GTX 980. That being said, I would recommend taking a look at other custom cooler options out there. I'm currently returning this card and will pick up an MSI or Gigabyte option instead.
