Waldorf 'Iridium' Synth Desktop
Waldorf 'Iridium' - Digital 16-voice Dual Timbral Polyphonic Synthesizer Module with 3 Stereo Digital Oscillators
Make the Impossible, Possible...
Waldorf - 'Iridium'
32-step sequencer and arpeggiator
With the ‘Iridium’, Waldorf have made the impossible, possible. The vastly powerful synth engine from Quantum is now finally available to the public in a compact form. Heavily inspired by its bigger brother, ‘Iridium’ also boasts the very same synthesis elements of 'Quantum', in a rack-friendly format!
The masterful combination of the spectacular engine, mind-blowing versatility and detailed sound shaping tools, open up the doorway for truly limitless possibilities of sound. Yet, the ‘Iridium’s extensive layout and simple to get to grips with structure, allows you to craft your own sounds in no time at all! Featuring a tough metal housing and the very same level of craftsmanship as found on the ‘Quantum’, Waldorf’s ‘Iridium’ is here and ready to take over studios and stages across the globe!

6 Different Synthesis Models
inspired by 'PPG Wave'Representing yet another solid entry in Waldorf’s illustrious history, ‘Iridium’ is welcomed to the family as a direct descendent of the ‘PPG Wave’, but Iridium delivers much more than its predecessor. 6 different synthesis models are on offer with Iridium, for each of it’s 3 oscillators: ‘Wavetable’, ‘Waveform’, ‘Particle’, ‘Resonator’ and ‘Kernels’.
Kernel mode makes its entrance alongside the OS 2.0 of Quantum. This massive upgrade enables one oscillator to be turned into a maximum of 6 sub-oscillators. There are then able to be interlinked through FM at audio rate and customised in user-definable constellations. This upgrade alone, would have warranted Waldorf creating a new synthesiser, now, all these functionalities have been built in to Iridium too!
Up and Down, Back and Forth
‘Komplex Modulator’There’s a massive 6 Envelopes, 6 LFOs and so much more, just waiting to be used as sources in the any of the 40 slots inside the Iridium’s modulation matrix. Each slot features one further control parameter.
Modulations are able to be directed to almost every numerical value inside Iridium. Each source and destination is able to be utilised as much as you like until the Modulation Matrix is filled. Should you ever find yourself having run out of LFOs or Envelopes, you can use the ‘Komplex Modulator’ to generate your very own custom shape LFO or Envelope.
Complex, but never Complicated
intuitive menu layoutWhilst Iridium is packing a serious array of parameters, you’ll soon feel comfortable once you see how well organised everything is laid out. The Iridium is wonderfully intuitive.
Major controls have their own dedicated control, whilst the rest is easily accessible through the touch screen and encoders. There are no convoluted menus to get lost in and ruin your creative streak, rather, you’ll find a streamlined workflow to help boost your creativity.
Get Connected
onboard Micro-SD card slotIridium features two audio outputs, and two inputs to enable Iridium to process external signals. 4 CV inputs, alongside ‘Gate In’ and ‘Trigger’ are ready and waiting to forward external signals to the onboard Modulation Matrix, there’s also ‘Clock In’ and ‘Clock Out’ to sync your external hardware. MIDI connections are available too via USB and DIN MIDI. Waldorf’s ‘Iridium’ also features a USB Host port for MIDI hardware, this port also handles data exchange, in addition to the MicroSD card slot.
