Chassis Airflow

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

ThermalTake Level 10 GT Visionary Full Tower Computer Chassis, Modular, Max 360mm GPU, 3x 200mm Fans, USB 3.0 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ideal new build or upgrade case. Case arrived promptly and was very well packaged. The first thing I noticed was that the case was somewhat more updated than the cased shown on youtube and this initially threw me. Specifically, the SATA cabling was pretty much hidden [thus making the cabling by FAR more tidy] so, when looking for the SATA cables, just know they are pretty much hidden but, they ARE pre-installed. The overall space inside is HUGE, no worries even if your planning on putting in a couple of GTX 1080 ti's. Cable management is epic with so much space on the back side [behind the motherboard] for all your peripheral cables. The quick release drive bays are brilliant though, be sure to LOCK the drawers once you've installed your drives to eliminate the risk of 'friends' 'trying out' the drawers while your PC is powered up. The 200mm fans are awesome. Ample airflow providing some serious air cooling and the option to alter the lighting colours [RGB or a combination thereof] add customisation of the cases lighting. The one minor disappointment I noticed was that the 120mm rear fan was just a standard non-RGB fan with no illumination. Given the location of the cases small window, having no illumination in the same spot seems a bit odd however, I had spare fans so a quick replacement and problem solved. The addition of 6 external USB slots was a very useful feature however, be sure your motherboard supports additional headers to allow full use of all of the USB ports. And finally, the completely removable side panel. A contact based power solution avoids having to unplug side panel case fans. Perfect solution to round up an epic case. True, this design may not be to everyone's taste but for me, I loved it and would highly recommend to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great case This was bought to replace my thermaltake armour+ The cooling power of this case was the first thing I noticed: Cpu dropped 10'c Gpu dropped 16'c Great case with great design, looks and feels expensive and features, you can actually turn off the PC lights for night time which was a downside of the last case. The only issue I have is that the light show settings aren't in sync. The top fan will change then 0.8 second later the other will follow, only minimal but for a £140 case of have expected this to be perfect. Great cable tidy and the quick swap hdd system is amazing. The case is also very quiet and has fan speed settings for gaming time if needed. Overall 9.5/10
