The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

This TekSpek explains why you’d want to overclock your graphics board, the risks in doing so and how you can go about doing it.

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Thermal Grizzly Hydronaut High Performance Thermal Paste, 11.8 W/mk, Light grey, Silicone Free, 1.5ml, 3.9g is rated 1.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Very Disappointed I purchased this thermal paste because I had seen rave reviews of it all over the net, and Youtube and thought I would use it rather than the old faithful (MX-4). I decided to use this between the IHS and Coldplate of the H100i I ordered on the same day, for my de-lidded 7700K, and got quite a poor suprise. The packaging was great although too big for the small tube you get inside, and if the TIM was as good as the packaging I would have been happy. You get a little rubber spreader included that you are supposed to fit to the end of the tube, in order to spread the TIM on the IHS of your CPU/GPU but it's so soft it wouldn't spread butter. When you fit and try to squeeze out the TIM, you will think you are going to break your thumb, or I did anyway because it took so much pressure to push it out of the tube. I then tried to spread it as advised and nope it would not spread, I then tried to use a plastic card like it suggest's and still it would not spread, instead it clumped up on the card and in the end I gave up. Grabbed my trusty tube of MX-4, and hey what do you know I draw a line down the IHS and pop on the H100i and it's fine. Honeslty it may have been a bad batch but I won't be trying this paste again. I wouldn't recommend it based of my experience.
