Rated 5 out of 5 by An efficient Xeon cooler for 4U of bigger I first had a pair as part of a Supermicro SYS barebones setup which I run 24/7 "crunching". They keep a pair of 8 core Xeons running @ 2.4 Ghz in the low 40° temps and whilst audible they are not terribly loud (OK under a desk but maybe not in a bedroom). A no brainer then to buy this second pair. If you want quieter I would consider a pair of "non interference coolers" but these cost a lot more. These are a good solution for the money and are well designed and built for the task. I use Supermicro X9Dai MB's 30 December 2013
