The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Silverstone AR02, Argon CPU Cooler with 92mm PWM Fan For LGA775/115X/1366/2011/ AM2/AM3/FM1/FM2 is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool and quiet and wallet friendly Bought to replace a 6 year old stock Intel heat sink which was failing causing my CPU temps to hit 90C. No major hassles getting it installed and fitted perfectly inside my case (even with the taller RAM) - the fan just stopping short of bumping up against the sticks. Has my CPU now running at high 20s to low 30s when idle and no more than 50C when under load (Youtube, Minecraft etc..). Very pleased with this, and for hardly any money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Having previously used an Arctic Freezer 7 and an Arctic Freezer 13, this is absolutely perfect. I have an Intel Pentium K G3258 overclocked to 4.6ghz at 1.3v and before struggled with Prime 95. It would push up to mid-high 80's and sound like the PC was about to take off, which i don't like. With this, the temps don't go above the low 70's and it is almost silent at that. I think the reason it is so good, is the way its secured to the cpu/board. Really easy to get a good tight fit. Would 100% recommend if you have a small system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cheap, reasonalby cheerful Bought this as a cooler to cool an intel Xeon X5570 in a home server. The cooler does an adequete job of cooling the cpu, but I do think the overall build quality could be better, and I wish the Fan wasn't blue. I reccomned this cooler for cheap systems but NOT for high end, overclocked CPUs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job Installed on an Asus Impact motherboard with 4770k CPU. Case is an EVGA Hadron air and I was limited on size. Temps are good with room for a light overclock.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Small, cheap, cool. At first looks, the AR02 looks smaller than you'd expect. This is not a bad thing. The compact nature of the cooler makes it fit for almost every case. The installation is a breeze for both Intel and AMD. Despite 92mm fans of old being noisy, Silverstone have managed to tame the screaming nature of small fans with the one provided. This makes it nice and quiet while somehow providing more than sufficient airflow to extract the heat from the albeit generic design of the actual heatsink. The performance and abilities of the of the AR02 are not limitless though. For sprucing up older systems, it's great, but only at stock speed. The demands of the older chips are somewhat a bit of a challenge. Newer chips however, especially the AMD FM2 series, really benefit from this cooler as it'll hold decent overclocks with ease. And for a cooler with a £20 price tag, it might well be a few pound more than the competing 92mm coolers such as the CM Hyper TX3, Akasa Vemon Pico and even the Titan Skalli with its rather audible 100mm fan, but outperforms them with ease.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great cheap cpu cooler purchased this to replace the stock cooler for my fx 8350. easy to install i used artic silver 5 thermal paste .instead of the grease included .once up and running the temperature dropped from 47 to 39 and this should drop even more over time so .when the thermal paste settle down .very quiet cooler .the stock cooler use to rumble when playing a game .not any more with this one .very impressed with this and the price .im hoping i can get another fan the same to attach so will have two fans .included with the cooler is an extra four rubber mounts for another fan .

Questions & Answers

Will this fit the MSI Z97i Gaming AC motherboard?

Due to the location of the CPU socket, the compatibility for this motherboard is limited. I was wondering if anyone could confirm if this fits correctly on one of these boards?
