TekSpek Guides
Date Issued: 21st Oct 2008

You've probably read the USB Tekspek, and perhaps your intrigue, or product interest, has lead you to look up Firewire as well. The two are similar in some respects, particularly some of the products that use the two technologies. Questions & Answers

Is this compatible with an Asus X99 Delux MB

Asked by: burchie

Hi there; I have an ASUS Z97-P Motherboard which doesn't have any Firewire ports so I want to add a PCI card so I can run my sound card through Firewire instead of USB. I am going to buy either the RME 400 or RME UCX Fireface Hybrid Audio Interface so I need to know if there will be any issues with this particular 3 x Firewire 400 1394 PCI card, and if so what card should I be thinking of buying. Look forward to your reply. Larry Grealis
