Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Not bad for a low cost dash cam Unfortunatly for me you need to have a windows or Mac pc to extract the images and video from the camera. It doesn't store them directly as avi files to the sd card. The resolution of the camera is poor and you can't read registration plates unless the car is within a few feet and not moving about a lot. I will invest in a better camera next time. Scan customer service was excellent when I had to get a faulty one related though. It was super quick. 10/10 for that.. 27 January 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Quite good for the price The fact you get Dual Camera and GPS (and a free 32Gb card with the deal I got), is good value for money. The video quality could be better, as I have mine set to record both camera feeds. (I will try with just the front). At the price though, I have just ordered another one for the rear window. (Bit sad :-( I didn't get an SD card with this one) I have tried lots of the really cheap dash cams off ebay, and they only last a few months before something breaks, so I recommend trying one of these instead if you need a functional dash cam and cant splash out for the Blackvue stuff. NOTE: You must have a Windows operating system to run the software to get the video files off. I run Linux, and its NOT compatible with the utility supplied. I tried for hours to get a work round, and didn't succeed. 28 December 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by pretty good piece of kit great camera night video is pretty good but works better if you put your front fog lights on,no need for internal camera as only films yourself and any passengers the quality is pretty good although not HD I found that the window mount sucker wasn't any good would stay on for an hour or so then fall off, cant leave on window over night so I changed the sucker part and now its fine the built in mic is really good picks up every sound , what a bonus as well with a free 16gb memory card over all im really happy 09 October 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Not quite what I need Had this camera a few days, tried it, didn't like it... 1. It is not HD 1280x720, it is 640x480. With 2nd camera it becomes 1280x480. 2. Quality of video does not pick up car reg numbers. 3. There is no facility to have short interval recordings, file size is huge. 4. The GPS is an additional attachment, not built-in (though I didn't really need this facility, others might). I didn't try it at night, because, the above issues were enough for me to request a return. 01 August 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent product Great product really good features, would recommend this product, they even thought of a second sd card in case one is needed as evidence, who else would think of that, spot on. 03 July 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by camera works well Front and back camera work very well with good clear recordings and playback. Included software shows three axis g forces and recorded sound is very clear. Only poor feature is the GPS which takes upto 10 mins to acquire satellites and often looses them again. This makes the tracking on Google maps very intermittent. 28 February 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not as advertised website states it is HD, it is not, it is VGA. website states it is 1280 x 720, it is not, it is 640 x 480. website states it is 3Mpix, it is not it is only 0.3Mpix. website states it Takes Photo's and Video, it does not, it only takes video which snapshots can be taken from. website states it has a Video Resolution: 1280*480 Screen Resolution, this is misleading as it only becomes 1280 if you put the front and back images together, each being 640x480 individually. website states it has Photoo Resolution: JPEG, 3M (2048*1536px), 2M (1600*1200px) System Match, 1.3M (1280*960px), VGA (640*480px) Optional, this is not the case, the only one available is the VGA 640x480 option. website states it has USB 2.0 Interface Mini USB Cable Included, it does not. Avoid! 12 May 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Pretty good I have used this camera twice now. The first time I used it the battery didn't last very long. However, after charging it a second time I recorded a two hour journey with at least 60% battery left. Instructions for use are scarce but it isn't difficult to learn how it works. The included 16Gb MicroSD card has plenty of space on it. Overall I like it and the price is very good. 21 March 2014

Answer:
It's an external antenna and yes the wire gets in the way. You have to stick the GPS somewhere using the double sided sticky pad.

Answer:
The GPS sensor is separate with a sticky pad to stick it (permanently?) somewhere.

It would be better to have a plate attached to the mount for sticking the sensor on.

Answer:
I have just transferred two .avi files from this. However, the first time I used it there were a lot of 90 second files which is no use at all. I have used it since and it recorded just one .avi file for the whole time it was turned on - about 30 minutes worth.

Transferring the file to a PC does take a while though.

Answer:
use the app on the cameras sd card in the pc to view the footage. select the video you want from the list on the right hand side of the screen (you can select more than one) and then hit the save icon along the bottom (looks like a floppy disc). this saves the files as an .AVI to your pc (it can take a long time if the files are large), you can then edit these with your own pc video software

Answer:
It only auto records when you have the unit plugged in to the cigarette lighter socket and it has current coming through. If you have the unit unplugged then you have to turn the unit on yourself and it starts recording straight away.

Answer:
I have found that if you plug the power cord into the cigar lighter socket the camera will switch on when you start the engine and turn off when you turn the engine off.

If you are running it from the internal battery you have to manually turn it on and off.
