Rated 5 out of 5 by mdjmcnally Does what it says - Just make sure set to 1080 on the input device
I bought this as my TV doesn't have HDCP support on it's HDMI interface, meaning have to feed via Component.
As Apple are now putting out content that has issues on the Apple TV Mk1 then looking to upgrade to a Mk3 without buying a new TV, and the Mk3 only has HDMI output.
Looked around for a device doing this and very few stores seem to have them, or if they do, then in stock, before selecting this one.
So far very impressed with the device, looks a little cheap, however it is only half the price of some other devices and some devices are being sold for about 4 times this price. However it does exactly what it claims to do, and I would have no hesitation recommending it to anyone else looking to feed a component based display from a HDMI device.
Just make sure that your input device is set to 1080i or 1080p to avoid flickering of the screen. When feeding at 720p then flickers annoyingly on light backgrounds.
With output set to 1080i then flickering disappears.
Also make sure you read the instructions properly and switch this on before the input device if you want the HDCP synch to work correctly.
