The GW-HT20 takes performance up another notch with the 8-core Intel Core i7 6900K CPU with Hyper-Threading which we overclock to 4GHz. This very powerful CPU is partnered with the high-end 8GB NVIDIA Quadro M5000 graphics card with an Asus X99-A USB 3.1 motherboard that boasts improved memory bandwidth over all the other cheaper Scan 3XS Pro Graphics workstations. Also included is 32GB of 2666MHz Corsair DDR4, a 256GB Samsung 850 Pro SSD and 2TB hard disk.

The GW-HT20 is pre-built and ready to ship for next-day delivery!

Why NVIDIA Quadro?

When it comes to a professional graphics workstation nothing is more important than knowing that what appears on-screen is accurate and colour correct. For this reason we recommend using a professional graphics card from the NVIDIA Quadro range. This range of cards spans all the way from £100 to £4,000, with each model being optimised for running specific applications such as 2D CAD, 3D CAD, CAM, 3D animation and 3D rendering.

This workstation features the NVIDIA Quadro M5000 graphics card and is optimised for creating, animating and rendering complex models and simulations in professional applications such as Autodesk 3ds Max, Maxon Cinema 4D and Newtek Lightwave 3D.

Choosing the Right CPU

Although the graphics card is the most important component in a graphics workstation, choosing the right CPU(s) still has a massive effect on performance. Today's CPU market is dominated by Intel, which produces a huge range of different processors at price points varying from as little as £30 to as much as £2,200.

This workstation features the Intel Core i7 6900K processor, which has eight physical cores and eight additional Hyper-Threaded cores, making it ideal for the most intensively multithreaded applications and heavy multi-tasking.

Professionally Overclocked

We offer the option to professionally overclock the Intel processors in our workstations. Overclocking boosts the CPU performance, shortening render and calculation times. Overclocked CPUs are tested in conjunction with Intel, ensuring rock sold stability and improved ROI from the additional performance provided by the overclock. Overclocking will boost performance and system responsiveness, but as a side effect it generates additional heat. Our overclocked systems account for this heat by using high quality air and watercooling systems from our key partners such as Noctua, Be Quiet! and Corsair. These keep an overclocked CPU cool, ensuring that you enjoy the benefits of an overclocked CPU without any additional noise. We stress test all overclocked workstations for 24 hours as part of our rigorous quality control test.

Lightning Fast Storage

Nobody likes waiting for applications and models to load, so to increase your productivity this workstation includes a lightning fast SSD as well as a traditional HDD. SSDs use solid-state memory, transferring data over 5 times faster than a mechanical HDD, so boot into Windows, load applications and models in a fraction of the time.

Genuine Windows

This workstation is pre-installed with genuine Microsoft Windows 10 Professional 64-bit, the most popular operating system for a graphics workstation.

The Right Memory

Fast & reliable system memory is a crucial part of any PC. Scan 3XS Pro Graphics systems exclusively use Corsair memory modules as they perform the best and are extremely reliable. We recommend 8GB of RAM for an entry-level workstation, 16GB for a high-end workstation, more RAM is recommended when working with larger assets.

We’ve run these industry standard benchmarks such as SPECviewperf 12, Cinebench R15 and Euler3D on this workstation so you can compare its performance with other workstations.

Professionally Built PCs vs Self-Built

Anyone can build a PC, so what really makes the difference between any old PC and a 3XS PC? For starters, our team has been designing and building PCs for more than 20 years, so we have a huge amount of experience in building highly reliable systems that deliver the most performance for your budget. These are the benefits you receive when buying a professionally built 3XS system versus building a system yourself.

It can take weeks to research the right combination of components, not just to ensure you get the most bang for your buck but to minimise the chance of one component being incompatible with another. Whether you buy a system from our configurator or a custom spec system our engineers will do all this hard work for you, ensuring that when your system is delivered it performs flawlessly.

Building a PC only takes a few hours, but installing all the software and making sure that everything is configured properly and that your software runs stably takes up a huge amount of time. By ordering a 3XS system our engineers take this painful process away, as all our systems undergo a strenuous Quality Control procedure which includes updating Windows, installing the latest drivers and motherboard BIOS. Overclocked systems receive an additional 24 hour burn-in test to ensure stability.

Unfortunately PC components do occasionally fail, and when this happens if you’ve built your PC yourself you’re on your own. However, with a professionally built Scan 3XS system you’re no longer alone. Our technical support team is available 7 days a week, from 9am to 10pm Mon - Fri, 10am to 6pm on Saturdays and 10am to 4pm on Sundays. Click here for more info on how to get technical support for your 3XS system.

If our support team is unable to fix your system remotely and it’s still under warranty we’ll either send out an engineer to visit your home or office or repair it or have it repaired in our state of the art factory in Lancashire.

We don't just build PCs in our state-of-the-art factory, we craft them. For instance, we route and tidy all the cables around the sides of the case. This not only makes your PC look great and easier to upgrade in the future, but eases airflow through the case resulting in a cooler and quieter PC. In addition, we can customise your PC for you, not just the components inside but also its appearance, so if you fancy a PC in an unusual shape or colour we look forward to hearing from you.

Our 3XS PCs have won hundreds of awards in the press from publications such as Custom PC, Develop3D, Expert Reviews, HEXUS, PC Gamer and PC Pro. In addition 3XS has won Custom PC’s annual Dream PC competition every year it has run since 2007. You can read all our reviews here plus customer reviews on the configurator.

Sometimes you just need a system right now. Maybe your existing system has kicked the bucket or you’ve found that your old workhorse can’t hope with the latest game or application you just bought. F-series systems are pre-built and tested in our factory, so can be collected same day or delivered next-day to your home or office.

Another key difference is that all Scan 3XS Custom Series PCs are covered by our Premium 3 Year Warranty. This means that if your system develops a fault in its first year we can send an engineer to your home or office to repair it. In the remaining two years of the warranty we'll still repair or replace any faulty parts, but do this from our state of the art factory in Lancashire. Click here for more info on how to get technical support for your 3XS system.
