5-piece Roland TD-27KVRoland’s most recent mid-level V-Drums kit blurs the lines between flagship performance and affordability. The TD-27KV boasts the very same 14” snare, 18” digital ride and Prismatic Sound Modelling engine as Roland’s premier TD-50 kits, and those aware of the breath-taking power of these units, will be impressed at Roland’s decision to include such solid hardware at this price point.
A streamlined profile, collapsible rack stand with 10” toms, 12”/13” cymbals, and a tower-style kick drum, means that the TD-27KV’s onstage footprint remains considerably modest. Within the powerful TD-27 module, you’ll discover the same powerful customisation tools that made Roland’s TD-50 such a revolutionary piece of hardware. For example, virtual head swaps, precision tuning and damping, snare wire and kick beater subs and so much more! It’s easy to make these adjustments too, just tap the pad you wish to edit and all customisation options will appear before you on screen.
New to Roland’s TD-27 is Roland’s powerful ‘PureAcoustic’ Ambience Technology, this enables you to adjust direct and ambient mic positions and FX processors at a virtual level for staggering realism through headphones.
Once you’ve successfully dialled in your kit of choice, it’s possible to route it to your interface via 4 direct outs, or inject 28 channels of audio directly into your DAW of choice via USB. Bluetooth streaming from your device to the module makes for great fun jamming along to your favourite songs during practice time, as does the built-in coaching functions and metronome.

The 14” 4x3” stainless-steel snare and 10” toms sport Roland’s famous multi-ply mesh heads, delivering unparalleled response and adjustable tension for an organic-feeling rebound. The 12” hi-hat cymbals fix upon a standard acoustic-hi-hat stand, whilst the 12” ride cymbal and 12” and 13” crash cymbals are mounted upon rugged boom arms for superb stick feel and natural swinging motion.

This is all possible with the TD-27 module, allowing you to craft customized kits for any situation. Just strike a pad to select it, and then use the hands-on controls and intuitive editing tools to get the sound just how you like it.
Your edits are saved automatically too, so you always stay focused on playing. It’s even possible to load your own samples and layer them with the internal sounds to personalize kits even more.

The TD-27 module features stereo outputs for the overall drum sound, plus two direct outputs for sending kick, snare, and other sounds to an audio console for independent mixing.
In the studio, the built-in USB audio interface makes computer music production easy, with up to 28 audio channels available over a single cable. MIDI is also supported via USB and dedicated I/O, allowing you to sync with other MIDI devices and trigger sounds in computer software.
