Newly designed circuitry
The main I/O on the Babyface sports a completely newly designed XLR socket, which sits nicely on the rear panel of the chassis and saves space. The dual headphone outs offer both TRS and mini-jack sockets, each of these have their own independent driver stages to perfectly sync low and high impedance headphones, ensuring professional audio quality is delivered regardless of what type of headphone is utilised.
Two digitally controlled preamps deliver individually switchable 48v Phantom Power. These newly designed circuits boast a gain range of 76dB, adjustable in 1dB increments, a relay-driven PAD, which delivers incredible EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) performance as well as line overload protection, and plenty of gain for even the lowest level microphones.

Percect for mobile studio use
The admirably efficient design of the Babyface Pro means that you’ll almost never have the need for an external power supply, it’s perfectly capable running on USB 3 bus power, aswell as most USB 2 ports, without any loss of performance or technical specification degradation. This makes the Babyface Pro a great choice for mobile studio use.
The long list of impressive features does not stop there, the Babyface Pro has an optical TOSLINK I/O; able to be used as an ADAT port with SMUX support or SPDIF for sessions upto 192kHz. In combination with the use of an external ADAT converter, the Babyface Pro is fully capable of supporting 12 analogue inputs aswell as 12 outputs, making this the ideal choice for both live and studio multi-track use. Plug any instrument, line or high impedance into the Babyface Pro’s jack inputs 3 & 4. MIDI I/O are also available, rounding off this impressive list of features.

An Updated & Upgraded ClassicIn 2016, Warm Audio introduced one of the most talked-about 87-style FET condenser microphones in the industry with the release of the WA-87, it made the looks and authentic vintage sonics of this style of mic affordable to customers for the very first time. Simply put, the release of the WA-87 changed the industry's perception of what could be achieved at an affordable price.
Based on classic 60s circuitry, the WA-87's rich sound became a favorite of countless producers, engineers, and home recordists everywhere. It was our first microphone and a verifiable hit, and in recent years we've followed it with many other successful and ground-breaking designs.
Since the release of the WA-87 in 2016 Warm Audio learned a bunch more about microphone manufacturing, and have proven that they can beat the industry's quality expectations at affordable prices. That experience drove them to see if they could improve the WA-87 in tangible ways without having to raise the price, and the result is the new WA-87 R2 (Revision 2). Warm Audio have used everything they learned about recreating vintage microphones in the last five years to bring it even closer to the sound, vibe and performance of the original 60s classic we all know and love. T new WA-87 R2 is bigger, bolder and just plain better!
Excellent Components Make Excellent Microphones
Warm Audio’s WA-87 R2 is comprised of exceptional components, not often found in mic’s found in this price range. For example, Fairchild’s FET’s, tantalum, polystyrene and WIMA film capacitors, topped off with a CineMag USA output transformer. WA’s WA-87 R2 uses it’s own WA-87-B-50V custom capsule styled on the K87 dual backplate/dual diaphragm capsule found in the much sought after classic 87 microphones.
