Powerful components require a robust cooling solution. The 2022 ROG SCAR 17 SE utilises Thermal Grizzly's Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal on both the CPU and GPU. An ultra-high performance thermal interface material, Conductonaut Extreme can keep these components up to 15°C Cooler than traditional thermal pastes. When paired with a custom vapour chamber and four dedicated exhaust vents, this thermal solution transfers heat out of the system incredibly efficiently. ROG's Intelligent Cooling™ technology allows critical components like the CPU and GPU to maintain higher boost frequencies for longer periods of time, keeping your framerate smooth and steady even during extended gaming sessions. The SCAR 17 SE keeps noise in check, too: when in Performance mode, the Strix SCAR does not exceed 40 dB.

Beat the Heat

Heat dissipation is faster and more efficient with our vapour chamber design, which vastly increases surface area compared to traditional heatpipe systems. Unlike conventional heat pipes that only transfer heat along their axis, vapour chamber designs spread heat across their entire surface, allowing the vapour chamber to rapidly absorb and dissipate waste heat without adding extra bulk to the machine. This efficient heat transfer also keeps the surface of the laptop cooler, keeping your hands comfortable for the entire game.

Unleash the Grizzly

Cooling is one of the greatest challenges facing gaming laptops, and ROG is constantly pushing the envelope. This drive led to liquid metal, which is extremely effective at transferring thermal energy between surfaces like a processor die and heatsink.

The SCAR 17 SE takes this evolution one step further, with the use of Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal applied to both the CPU and GPU. This ultra-high performance thermal interface material can reduce temperatures by up to a staggering 15°C compared to traditional thermal pastes.

0dB Ambient Cooling

Enjoy truly silent cooling under light workloads with 0dB Technology. In the Silent operating mode, the cooling system switches off all fans during everyday tasks to dissipate heat passively. This lets you concentrate on your work and immerse yourself in movies with less distraction. If CPU or GPU temperatures increase, the fans automatically switch on again.

0.1mm Ultra Thin Fin

Thermal energy is dissipated by four heatsinks, each lined with ultrathin copper fins as slim as 0.1mm. These fins are half the size of typical solutions, allowing for higher density for heat dissipation and lower air resistance to allow for smoother flow. There are up to 218 heatsink fins totalling 107,131mm² of surface area.

Anti-Dust Tunnels

Our upgraded thermal module design features shorter anti-dust tunnels that leave up to 5% more space around the fan, improving airflow by up to 15%. Preventing the build-up of dust ensures the long-term stability and reliability of your system.

3D Flow Zone Gives Access to Fresh Air

Ample airflow is a fundamental aspect of effective cooling. To amp up cool air intake for the Strix SCAR, its hinges are shifted forward in front of a heavily ventilated 3D Flow Zone. The sleek aesthetic of the 2022 ROG Strix SCAR 17 SE holds an extra secret in addition to cutting-edge components: specially developed invisible ink. Traditional invisible ink wouldn't adhere firmly when applied to the metal lid, so our R&D team painstakingly created a new substance from scratch. It took six months and seven formulations to perfect, but this new metallic textured ink has passed all our wear and durability tests. A subtle cypher on the lid of the laptop can be brightened with the included UV flashlight, exposing hidden messages in cryptic cyber-stylised text.

For flexibility on the go, USB Type-C charging up to 100W is supported. When charging using the supplied 330W power adapter, the SCAR can recharge from zero to 50% in just 30 minutes.

By default they act as volume control, microphone mute and a quick launch for Armoury Crate, but with a few adjustments you can make them work for you. Scenario Profiles

Automatic switching between Silent, Performance, and Turbo modes is just the beginning for Scenario Profiles. You can also define application-specific preferences for other vital system settings, like the lighting configuration, whether the Windows key or touchpad are enabled, and which GameFirst VI and Sonic Studio III profile to use. Armoury Crate makes adjustments in an instant to best fit the task at hand, and you can configure each profile exactly how you want.

Aura Wallpaper

This brand new feature in Armoury Crate 5.0 allows you to synchronise an animated desktop wallpaper with your laptop's RGB lighting.
