In partnership with PNY & NVIDIA, ourselves at Scan Computers International, NVIDIA’s top performing DGX partner, are able to offer the upgrade you need for your existing Pascal-based DGX-1 Deep Learning system to unlock the power of NVIDIA’s latest GPU architecture: Volta.
Packing 5120 CUDA cores per GPU vs the 3584 of the Pascal-based Tesla accelerator cards, the new Volta V100 chips pack ‘an ace up their sleeve’ in the form of 640 brand-new Tensor Cores per GPU, specifically designed to speed up the training of neural networks. Supported by 16GB of HBM2 memory per card, the 8x card Volta V100 upgrade provides you with 128GB of GPU memory across the entire system, leaving you with a total of 40,960 CUDA Cores (12,288 more than the Pascal DGX-1), and 5120 of the latest Tensor Cores, all linked together and connected to your Xeon CPUs with NVIDIA’s latest NVLink 2.0 interface.
Once upgraded to Volta, your entire DGX-1 system will be capable of 960 teraFLOPS at GPU FP16 – more than 5.5 times the performance of your existing Pascal DGX-1 running at 170 teraFLOPS.
Volta Upgrade Process
Once you have ordered your swap-out upgrade from ourselves, we will get in contact with you to arrange delivery of the upgrade tray and a visit from an engineer to professionally install your new Volta V100 hardware in your DGX-1 Deep Learning System.
The engineer will also carry out a software update on your DGX-1 during the upgrade process to ensure optimum performance with the new Volta V100 Tesla GPUs. As this is a swap-out upgrade your old Pascal-based GPU tray will be removed during the upgrade, and will be retained by the engineer for shipment back to NVIDIA.
