Excellent blu-ray writer. Reads and writes very quickly, and super quiet. Great price and would definitely recommend it.

This drive does everything I could possibly ask of it and that is quite a lot.

Very happy with purchase. Easy set up and installation after making the mistake of purchasing an internal drive and not an external drive as intended. Was able to remove DVD drive and use the lead connector for Pioneer as the device also comes without connections. Only flaw worth noting. Speed is great and after using for over a month I'm very happy with purchase. Delivery was very quick and transaction was very smooth. Will use Scan for future purchases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuckles This product worked well with all media I used
A great drive which works well with all of the media I have used. If this is a first time purchase, the lack of software may be a detractor as most drives are sold with basic writing software. As this was an upgrade I was impressed on all accounts by its speed, accuracy and compatibility with the media I used.

This dual layer BDR was such great value, I did not hesitate in buying it. That coupled with it being a Pioneer. The only issue I've had is it does not support CD-R, but most system done these days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Overspeed1 I'm sure this product is wonderful when it works. I must have been unlucky
Had 2 units and neither would reliably burn DVD's.
At first things looked good as I managed to successfully burn 2 Blu-Ray's. I next attempted a DVD but it failed with error code 52102. Thinking it was a faulty disc I tried another DVD disc but got the same error code but in a different place during the burn. I tried a 3rd disc this time a different make of DVD blank. Still failed. The 2 Blu-ray's were from RPA. The first 2 DVD's were from RPA. The 3rd DVD was a Verbatim disc. The project for my test burns was one that I had successfully burnt discs many times before on the replaced LG drive. I next tried a CD and this was successful. I called customer services and they said check the firmware which I found was already the latest. I tried again with another different blank (Maxell) but failed with the same error. Called customer services again who gave me an RMA return code. Received 2nd unit and found it had exactly the same problems. Started to suspect a problem with the Gigabyte GA-Z68 mother board/SATA bus so tried another make of burner and had no problems at all.
So after returning both units I am now £8.45 out of pocket for return postage but with a fully functioning ASUS drive.

Rated 5 out of 5 by debs3759 Great value for money
As this was the cheapest available BDR drive at the time of purchase, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly it can write 25 GB data, and how reliable it is. I would recommend this as a first BD drive.

I was slightly dubious at first regarding buying such a product, but after reading other reviews with positive feedback, I think I made the right choice.
This is a really handy, useful type of optical drive, which is definitely worth every penny.
