Optical Compressor Pedal
with Tilt EQ and Blend KnobSerious tone aficionado’s will tell you that having a professional-grade compressor on your board is a vital component of any serious setup. External compressors have been a staple of some of the most famous recorded guitar tones of all time. Across all genres, country, metal, blues, a good compressor is what makes great guitar tone, great. Jackson Audio’s ‘Blossom’ pedal delivers this studio-grade compression, in a cool pedal format.
Heavily inspired by the ‘Green’ channel from Jackson’s ‘Bloom’ pedal, ‘Blossom’ is an optical compressor featuring a very smooth, organic sound which beers of your sound, without ever taking anything away dynamically. As a bonus’ ‘Blossom’ features a one-knob EQ. Upon turning the knob clockwise, this will add a considerable boost to the treble, and will cut the lower frequencies. Turn this parameter clockwise, and you’ll fatten up the lower end, whilst shaving off some higher frequencies.
Amazing Features
• Based on the Green channel from Jackson Audio’s Bloom pedal
• Smooth and transparent optical compressor
• Increases sustain and fattens tone without sacrificing dynamics
• Simple and effect toneshaping with one-knob tilt EQ
• Blend control for adjustable parallel compression
• Housed in a rugged brushed stainless-steel enclosure
The Secret Behind Great Recorded Guitar Tone

OPTICAL COMPRESSIONThe secret behind truly great recorded guitar tone, is often the use of a top-grade compressor unit, and, in more recent times, many top engineers have begun to use optical compressors when tracking guitar. The reason being, optical compressor use light to determine the level of gain reduction. The greater the input signal, the brighter the light, this is recognised by a sensor and translated into larger levels of compression.
Optical compressors are said to typically boast a smooth attack and release, which translates perfectly into a very musical-sounding compression.
