Chassis Airflow
Chassis Airflow
Date Issued: 20th Oct 2008

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by My view on the NZXT Phantom Enthusiast USB 3.0 case The case while it does look aesthetically pleasing I am finding that since moving my PC parts from one case to the NZXT My I am noticing noises that I did not hear before so I would not say it is as quiet as what everyone makes it out to be I do like the space down the motherboard side for cable management not to keen on the way around SSD's go in to it which causes me to have to use a extra Sata power cable then we should need to Pro's - Looks nice & Good for cable management Con's - Not as quiet as what people make it out to be but it's ok 16 December 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by The case itself is good, but the condition it arrived in was not so. Well, first thing is first, I rate the value and quality of this case as 'good' because it is a good case. It has plenty of room (e.g. you can easily fit 2 large graphics cards in here and still have some room left), plenty of drive bays, some positions to add extra fans etc. However, the reason as to why I gave this product an overall rating of 2 stars is due to the condition that it had arrived to me. First of all, a wire that connects to the top-backside fan was in the way of the area where the ports are supposed to go, and because it was a short wire, it was a bit worrying trying to move it out of the way without snapping it. I had to move it out of the way otherwise my motherboard would not align up properly. Secondly, on the back of the case where you can remove these metal pieces so that PCI-E expansion cards can be installed; well the screws for these were very tight. So tight in fact, that it caused the screws to round as I unscrewed them. Therefore, my father had to sort of... try to snap them out. Now our next step is to go to the local iron monger to purchase some new bolts etc so that I can have some secure-sturdy screws. Hmm... overall I was not very pleased with the condition that this case had arrived in, but I will state that this is likely a one-off and that I will still likely be purchasing more items from Scan in the future. However, if this occurs again, I will unfortunately have to shop elsewhere. 27 December 2013
