Product Overview The NH-L9a is a premium quality quiet CPU cooler for AMD based HTPCs and Small Form Factor systems. At a super-low profile of only 37mm, the NH-L9a is ideal for extremely slim cases and due to its 92x114mm footprint, it provides excellent compatibility with tall RAM modules and other components on mini-ITX mainboards. The custom designed SecuFirm2 mounting system for AM3+/FM1/FM2 makes installation child's play and thanks to the highly optimised NF-A9x14 premium fan that supports fully automatic speed control via PWM, the NH-L9a runs remarkably quiet. Topped off with Noctua's renowned NT-H1 thermal compound, the NH-L9a fuses everything users have come to expect from Noctua's larger coolers into a super-compact package for slim HTPC systems. The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Reviews
Noctua NH-L9a Low Profile Quiet CPU Cooler, AMD AM3+/FM1/FM2 is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Do your CPU a favour. Get this The stock CPU coolers which you get with your CPU purchase should be adequate for keeping things cool and running. But for me, after a few shutdowns due to over heating and cleaning the cooler fan repeatedly to get lower temperatures, I decided to purchase this product. I can tell you I am very happy with the purchase and results! Pros: You will notice the high quality build straight away. Shiny :) Nicely Packaged and included thermal paste Easy enough to Install (watch a video if you run into trouble) Stable low temperatures No shutdowns even after prolonged use Cons: None so far: Minor Issue: Installation leaflet will not be easy to follow for some folks. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb Quality Noctua fans are the best and this cooler matches that quality. Superb quality, excellent packaging and instructions. Comes with backplate, screws, spacers (should you need them), thermal paste. Very easy to fit, though you will need access to the rear of your motherboard. Takes up hardly any vertical space. No problems with getting in the way of the RAM sockets. Quiet fan. Buy this - you can't go wrong.

Compatibility

Hi, I was wondering if this cpu fan would fit on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 MoBo. Also, upon reading users comments, one said he had to access the back of the mobo to install this fan? Can one be easily reached by simply taking out the side panel leading the the back of the mobo? My tower was bought from you guys, it's a Aerocool Strike-X Advance Case (LN48550). Thanks
