This solves the age old problem of mic'ing up acoustic guitars, where a static mic means you have to stay in one place whilst playing, but the sound of pickups never really has the same body and tone. The rubber edged clamp fits tightly to the edges of the guitar and enables you to place a mic where you want (though the base of the neck is a great starting point). You can even wire it up to a radio pack and go wireless around a stage, never once compromising sound quality.
The Giltrap Signature H-clamp is based on the LiveGuitar H-clamp Light and is engineered for optimum performance both in usability and isolation of the microphone (or other attached devices) from the vibrations of the instrument to which it is fitted. The discs of the 'Light' model are machined from an aerospace-grade Black polymer, making it the lightest and most sonically inert H-clamp. The aerospace-grade aluminium shafts, booms and thunbscrews are all Black, so this model is the most visually discrete in the LiveGuitar range..
This model will fit the all Acoustic and Semi-electric Guitars.
It will also fit most Electric Guitars, Ukuleles, Banjos and Mandolins.
The clamp consists of two discs, with embedded nitrile rings to cushion and protect, which are drawn together by a thumbscrew to acquire an extremely tenacious grip on the edge of the instrument, where it is strongest. The boom has a standard 3/8 inch thread for attaching clips or shock mounts, not included, to suit the chosen microphone or other device.
