DJI Mavic 2 Pro: See the Bigger Picture

Mavic 2 Pro

A New Level of ProDJI’s groundbreaking drone technology takes another step forward, with the DJI Mavic 2. Taking the original Mavic Pro line of drones and improving by creating two new variations to suit your needs, with this version being the direct successor, the Pro.

Hasselblad Camera

New Technology DJI took notice of content creators' photos and videos, picking up on the popularity of dusk and dawn photos. Taking this information, they partnered with Hasselblad, reknowned for their superb quality and iconic images, the Mavic 2 Pro comes equipped with a new L1D-20c camera. With this specific camera attached, the Mavic 2 Pro can produce outstanding images at 20-megapixels with amazing colour detail through Hasselblad Natural Colour Solution (HNCS) technology.

CMOS Sensor Inside the camera is a 1-inch CMOS sensor, drawing in far more light than before, allowing for stunning dusk shots in lowlight. The ISO has been improved from 3200 on the Mavic Pro to 12800.

10-Bit, HDR The Mavic 2 Pro shoots in 10-bit Dlog-M, so once you're done flying and capturing footage, whatever you captured on the drone is as flexible as possible in the post-processing and grading of your edit. With 10-bit, you get access to 1 billion colours, rather than the 16 million available in 8-bit.
HDR support comes to the Mavic 2 Pro, bringing accurate colours, increased contrast and brighter highlights. The Mavic 2 Pro can be plugged into your 4K TV or monitor to play footage with HDR enabled.

Aperture Hasselblad haven't skimped out on the features for the Mavic 2 Pro's camera. With all the above, the drone can now adjust the aperture (f/2.8-f/11), delivering image quality not found on a drone like this before. Low light and well lit environments are easy to adjust to, without having to compromise on what you want out of your footage.

Gimbals The Mavic 2 range features the same DJI technology you've come to know and rely on. The 3-axis gimbal that supports the camera ensures a smooth and stable operation when filming or taking photos, in any situation.

Hyperlapse and Hyperlight Utilising the Mavic 2's Task Library, you can set the drone to follow a certain path that will then take a series of photos in either JPEG or RAW (for more flexibility in post), which when edited together will produce timelapses that just can't be beat. Hyperlight is DJI's new feature that helps enhance images in lowlight with minimal noise.

DJI Technologies

OcuSync 2.0 With the OcuSync 2.0 Video Transmission System, performance has received a massive boost when feeding video to you. The Mavic 2 can now beam 1080p video over 8km uninterrupted, features 2.4 to 5.8ghz to achieve a smooth signal throughout your flight and fast downloading, with low-latency.

Improvements over the Mavic Pro

LongerFlight time has been increased to
31 minutes

FasterMavic 2 can now fly up to 72kph, as it has 19% less body drag

Better than ever On top of all the drone improvements, the software that runs some of the best features in the DJI drones have seen massive improvements with the Mavic 2.

Precise Recognition Whereas previous drones needed a 2D image to stay focused on a subject, the Mavic 2's recognition software allows for the drone to map a 3D view as it flies, utlising the new dual sensors to improve upon its accuracy.

Trajectory Prediction When following subjects, the Mavic 2 will map out a predicition of where it believes the subject is about to go. In a race, this could be as the cars dip behind something, the drone will continue its flight path in an attempt to predict where the subject will go next.

4K Recording

High-Speed Tracking The Mavic 2 can now keep up with incredibly fast objects or subjects, with the 72kph speed.

Obstacle Sensing With new and improved sensors, the Mavic 2 can follow a target without getting hung up on its surroundings. As it comes in close, the drone will begin to avoid them by itself, meaning your unmmaned flight and recording won't be ruined.

DJI Technologies: Panoramas With the Mavic 2, you can take panoramas in four different modes, Sphere, 180-degrees, Horizontal and Vertical. These take the original tech behind the Mavic Pro's panoramas and produce even more stunning images with the Hasselblad 1-inch CMOS camera.

DJI Technologies: Shooting Modes

POI 2.0 With vision and GPS technologies, the Mavic 2 with the power of POI 2.0 eliminates a whole section of your flying workflow by circling and shooting objects with ease.

Waypoint 2.0 (COMING SOON) Waypoint 2.0 allows you to map out where you'd like the Mavic 2 to fly and with the new and improved sensors, the drone will follow the path. This can also be saved for future reference or flights.

Asteroid Asteroid has the Mavic 2 swing up and around with a Tiny Planet view, zooming in quickly to give you a very cool shot.

Boomerang Swivelling around an axis and then back to the starting point, you can focus in on an object and get an incredible shot.

Dolly Zoom Exclusive to the Mavic 2 Zoom, this brings intense effects to your video, that only the unique zoom lens on the Zoom can bring.

Fly More Kits and Extras Scan Pro Video are expanding their range of accessories and extra parts for DJI drones, this also includes the Mavic 2. Choose from vital things like Battery Charging Hubs to minor items like a tablet holder for your controller.

An unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), better known as a drone, is a type of aircraft that is controlled remotely and is therefore flown without a human in the cockpit. Drones come in all shapes and sizes, from military UAVs primed for reconnaissance and missile deployment through to civilian drones for applications as varied as aerial photography, product deliveries, and keeping tabs on agriculture and livestock.
