Korg - Soundlink MW 2408
hybrid digital/analog 24 channel mixing desk Korg has teamed up with the legendary mixer design team duo of Greg Mackie and Peter Watts to engineer hybrid/mini-consoles that deliver a creative mixing experience, in an easy and simple to use manner.
Available in both 24, and 16 channel models, these new mixers give instant control over those inevitable emergencies that can occur when mixing in a live scenario. With stunning sound quality, musician friendly features, the MW1608 represents a wonderful harmony between the analogue and digital realms.
Designed in Conjunction with Mixer Guru's Greg Mackie & Peter Watts
When using a SoundLink, you’ll soon discover all the typical Greg Mackie features and nuances that will make you ask the question, ‘Why don’t other mixers have this?’.
Upon hearing your first live mix, you’ll soon discover why Peter Watts helped to design classic Trident consoles and then countless high-end studio processor and preamps. Between both of these legendary visionaries, there’s over 40 years of experience in designing mixers, in that time, they’ve picked up a lot of ideas and knowledge, many of which have been incorporated into the SoundLink desks.
Featuring HiVolt Preamps
OFFERING VAST HEADROOM
The SoundLink series of desks feature HiVolt mic preamps which genuinely deliver on the generic ‘Low noise, high headroom’ claim. If you’ve ever listened to the ‘White Album’, Rhianna’s ‘Rated R’, Elton John’s classic ‘Goodbye Yellow Brick Road’, amongst 100’s of other classic albums, you’re enjoying the sound of the legendary Trident mixing console.
Peter Watts played an integral role in designing Trident technology, and he has brought the same rich, warm preamp, EQ and dynamics qualities to the products designed today. HiVolt preamps deliver the most headroom of any comparable product on the market today, digital or analogue.
Musician Friendly Features
intuitive functionalities
It’s clear that the SoundLink desks have been designed in conjunction with practical musicians. It’s the only small mixer available on today’s market that features ‘Mute Groups’.
This function allows you to instantly call up different combinations of channels for a variety of groups on stage, different songs, sound checks, an acoustic number, or drum solos.
There are 4 group options, each of these is programmable in great details and easily recallable.
Not just Effects...KORG Effects
BEST IN CLASS EFFECTS
Rather than using a generic, run-of-the-mill digital FX processor chip, SoundLink mixers utilise a professional-grade proprietary Korg custom chip that takes knowledge and expertise from Korg’s decades of experience.
The SoundLink’s onboard FX are truly a cut-above the generic FX usually found on mixers, for example, all 6 reverbs include an alternate ‘WARM’ version, an asset that veteran KORG fans will tell you is extremely useful. Parameters of every effect can be tweaked, saved and recalled upon, and activated by an optional footswitch available separately.
Furthermore, you get test tone generators for use with the built-in 24-bandSpectrum Analyzer that’s another SoundLink exclusive in a mixer in this price range.
Premium Music Software Included
Premium iZotope software included
The SoundLink MW 2408 & 1608 ships with the powerful RX elements software by iZotope. This powerful, professional software suite has several tools that will enable you to clean, repair, or even rebalance the entire mix of any recording, which makes this software the ideal companion for the SoundLink range of mixers.
To download: Please go to the KORG Bundle Software website and insert the code included in the SoundLink Mixers. This way you will be able to get a specific download code for“iZotopeRX 7Elements”. Once you have that download code, go to iZotope’s website and use the code to download the software.
