Jackson Audio Amp Mode Boost Pedal
Jackson Audio - 'Amp Mode' MOSFET Transistor Boost Pedal
Jackson Audio - 'Amp Mode'
MOSFET Boost Pedal
'MOSFET' based circuitryThe ‘Amp Mode’ from Jackson Audio contains circuitry inside, which is largely based upon a ‘MOSFET’ transistor, this is a hugely popular variant of transistor used inside boost circuits due to it’s ‘amp-like’ characteristics and behaviours. A number of popular MOSFET boost pedals available today feature a very audible ‘crackle’ when rotated, however, Jackson Audio resolved this common issue with their ‘Amp Mode’. When rotating the singular knob on ‘Amp Mode’, the action is silent and serves up nothing other than a beautiful boost, seeped in harmonics!
Utilise the ‘Amp Mode’ as a preamp for your signal, as a boost to drive an OD pedal ever deeper into the realms of saturation, or just as a post overdrive boost to and clarity and to boost your guitars position in the mix!
TONE TIP!"One of the most powerful things about the AMP MODE is how well it stacks with other pedals as well as it self! For years I have run two MOSFET boosts on my pedalboard with a Klon in between them. I used one of the boosts as an always on boost, and added a second boost when I wanted an overdriven rhythm tone. Finally when I wanted a saturated lead tone I would kick on the Klon and the two boosts along with the Klon would give me a super articulate and saturated lead tone." - Brad Jackson
A 'True Boost'
preserve your signal‘Amp Mode’s singular boost control determines the overall boost control of the pedal.
‘Amp Mode’ is a true boost, meaning the once the boost control is all the way counter-clockwise, this doesn’t boost your signal, but rather instead, behaves as a unity gain buffer which emboldens your guitar signal to guard against any loss of tone when using long cables and busy pedal boards.
