8GB Ram (16 GB13,3330 22.214.171.124)
an old Nvidia GT610 with old screen running at 1280x1024
Running FSX Steam with VFR photo scenery on max. settings.
Autogen and aircraft settings at 80%
I set FPS at 35, see no point in running at faster rate,i get no stutters
CPU core temps 45-50 deg.
I am satisfied with my system

I used this processor for my upgrade, I like my games old and new....I paired it with a GTX 750 (which was already in my old board) I used 8 gigs or ram. I tested it out on Crysis to see how it performed, everything maxed out it ran the game like a dream...so in short if you want a decent powerful CPU and are not into overclocking, this CPU is just the ticket.

Fantastic choice of CPU, its the current sweet spot for price/usability (for intel CPUs) if you don't need Hyper-threading, and can afford more than an i3/low end i5 and are looking for a seriously good all round desktop CPU then this is the place to be looking.
Its fast, efficient, not power hungry, and fairly cool on stock cooler, though may be worth investing in after market if you worry about temps, though replacing the stock TIM for quality TIM is cheaper and quicker and saves you 1-3 deg on avg, there are some great offerings in the cooler market that will help keep your baby cool for not a lot of cash in some cases, just do your research.
In general, the 4690/K is a fantastic CPU to build your system around, you wont be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wolf525 Good Intel CPU.
The Intel Core i5 4690 cpu, is powerful for general computing tasks, good for gaming, and my cpu has stable even clocks and temps between cores, which has been a bug bear for Haswell class cpu's.
The turbo boost is a slight gimmic of boosting to 3.9 ghz, as you will only achieve around 3.8 ghz at most no matter what you set your Bios to.
Some would get the unlocked option, but Intel in their wisdom hacked 2 cpu features from this cpu, which could be important in future processing features.
This is the best option i think for performance to price ratio for a locked Haswell i5 cpu.
I got this for under £174 which is a good buy in my book.

Lots of reviews recommend this. Overclocks itself, runs quick anyway. Nice CPU.

Upgraded with new motherboard and i5 4690, and frame rate for gaming now at maximum compared to previous chip giving lowest setting so vast improvement. No reliability issues and installation straightforward apart from one tricky wiring issue. Cost was reasonable for both chip and board at just over 200 and the scansure insurance gave added confidence for the rebuild. Scan customer service gave us the site for Windows 7 reinstall to complete the task.
