I bought this as I needed an enclosure for a 15mm drive and there don't appear to be many available. Whilst this supports a number of 2.5" drives with varying heights it does this by the user changing the centre partition of the enclosure (there are 3 sizes) to hold the drive. As the drives themselves are only held in place by the internal connectors and the close fit of the partitions the drive doesn't need to be screwed in place. However, if using varying height drives, there are actually more screws to undo if you need to change the centre section so not very practical if swapping drives frequently. Data and power connection are provided by a 60cm Micro-B to Type A USB 3 cable which provided good transfer speeds. I didn't see any increase in performance with USAP as my motherboard doesn't support it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jesta This enclosure is great it had different sizes to cater for differing says Hdd sizes
I was very happy with the quality from the moment I opened the box.
There are different attachments to cater for different thickness Hdd's
Seems to be a pretty solid build and I have had major issues so far.
I would reccomend this product to anybody with a 2.5 says Hdd no matter what thickness the hdd

Rated 2 out of 5 by BrewedUp Having to send it back - no good for SanDisk X300 drives
I got this, based on spec, to use with a SanDisk x300 drive I got at the same time.
It comes with different center frames that the top and bottom screw onto, so you get to adjust how slim it is based on your drive - this was a nice touch, though I was also disappointed on the quality of materials used. Having used an Icy Box for years with my Desktop and Server systems, I was always really happy with the build quality. The build quality here though is going to be durable but is still feeling very cheap.
That cheap feeling unfortunately I feel goes to the controller inside as I've been unable to have any success with the use of this enclosure. The SanDisk X300 fits fine with the slim frame, though you might want to remove the controller board (2 screws) to connect and then refit to the frame as it can be a tight fit if you have large hands. Now though the real problem...
... The problem is that the controller fails to handle the data transfer. This is a USB 3.0 enclosure that I expected to be able to handle the (circa) 500MB/s drives, but all I get are I/O errors. It started off great, saw it connect in Windows 8.1 (on my Surface Pro 3), I then had to go into Disk Management and setup the drive partition etc, I then tried to transfer some files and as soon as it got to the first sub-folder with my RAW format photo files it lost the drive and Windows reported an I/O failure. Occasionally I could get the drive to appear again after disconnecting unplugging the drive from the enclosure and reconnecting everything up but I'd still get the same fault. Tried different files and folders and ultimately it would always fail. Sometimes it would not keep the drive on reconnecting - the drive would appear and disappear before you could access it.
I've since tried the drive in another enclosure and the drive works fine, but being a USB 2.0 controller, I'm going to need to still find the fast and capable USB 3.0 controller to get the performance the drive is capable of.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rightclickfix Stuck for a 15mm enclosure? Get this one!
I had a nightmare finding an enclosure to fit a clients 15mm, 2.5mm sata HDD and this is the one that did the trick. It took a while to realise you need to dismantle it to put the extra piece in place of the fitted one but I got there and it's a really well made case with solidity and quality obvious.
One thing I did notice was the fact that I had to pack the back of the enclosure with rubber to stop the HDD unplugging and this really should be supplied or fitted in the enclosure but it's no biggy!
