ICY BOX 4x 2.5" Dual Channel SAS/SATA HDD Backplane

The Small One

Hard disks in 2.5" format are becoming increasingly popular as their storage capacity grows. Therefore it makes sense to use them in servers. That is why ICY BOX offers this backplane, which is fitting in a 5.25" standard bay and can accommodating four 2.5" SATA / SAS hard disks.

The hard disk height may even be 15 mm - in order to reach the largest storage capacity. Two host connectors permit operation of SAS HDDs in dual channel mode. This ICY BOX works reliably even with very a high data throughput. therefore we recommend it for demanding duty in RAID systems.

The device is designed with two temperature control 40 mm fans in order to assure a silent and cool work environment. Everything is robust and secure, just as "the big ones" know it from ICY BOX.

Something for The Smaller Ones

We do not offer backplane solutions for 3.5" HDDs only, but also for 2.5" HDDs. Up to four HDDs up to the height of 15 mm can find place here inside. This backplane needs one 5.25" slot available on the PC.

Cooled System

Since we would not want the HDDs or SSDs to get too warm in operation, the aluminium enclosure makes sure the heat is perfectly dissipated to the outside of the enclosure. A 40 mm fan is also available in order to assist the cooling.

The fastest way from A to B

Is how the data is tranmitted thanks to the SAS Dual Channel chipset and the support for SATA III HDDs which provides a stable high data transfer rates. The power is connected with a 4-pin molex adapter (not SATA).
