Product Overview The LGX-SA is a three-voice guitar featuring electric and acoustic guitar sounds, plus the infinite possibilities provided by synth access.

The output from the bridge transducer system in the LGX-SA produces six separate signals—one for each string. This divided signal is called hexaphonic and is used to drive guitar synths.

Guitar synth systems in the past were technically complicated and required radical changes in playing technique. The LGX-SA/RolandTM GR-synth combination represents a new standard in user friendliness and performance. This is truly a 'plug in and play' system.

Questions & Answers

Can you tell me some more about the professional setup please?

My fear of buying from a warehouse operation is that the guitar's wood can shrink in the warm and give rise to sharp fret ends and the neck overbowing. Spending this much from a non-guitar outlet is a risk unless a luthier or technician checks the guitar over before dispatch. This is a luxury guitar at a luxury price. Who will work on the guitar and what will be done before it is dispatched? It only comes in a gig bag I think and not a hard protective case. Can a hard case be bought for shipping in and the gig bag sent for gigging? I would love to support SCAN into this field as you are a byword for good value and reliability, but wooden guitars are a specialised field.

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding LN80809 Godin LGX-SA(S) Guitar (Cognac Burst Flame AA with Bag) My name is Stuart Merry and I am the Guitar Specialist here at Scan and I am amongst other things the chief guitar tech that deals with the instruments before they leave the building. We have a strict quality control system in place on all our guitar stock. To answer your questions as to a warehouse operation. Our guitars are stored in a separate area where they and the room conditions are checked by myself on a regular basis. Our storage area would not get warm enough to cause the shrinkage you ask about. Guitars are also more susceptible to rapid changes in temperature from cold to warm e.g. lying in the boot of the car and then taking it from its bag or case in a warm house. Leaving the guitar to acclimatise in its bag or case for at least an hour prevents the chance of warping. Leaving a guitar next to a home radiator or also to be avoided as should very high or low humidity. We are an approved Godin stockist, so much so that our Pro Audio manager Steve Fairclough ( also a professional guitar player) and myself were flown out to Montreal last year by Godin where we toured the factories with Robert Godin himself and witnessed first-hand the manufacture of Godin guitars from choosing the wood to the finished product and the quality control at all points in the process. I can tell you that I witnessed more hands on guitar building there than I have seen in some custom shops. Q.C. of guitars such as Godin is very strict from their end with most guitars arriving to us needing nothing more than a truss rod adjustment. Never the less we check and carry out the following list on ALL guitars before they leave the building. We check & adjust the Truss Rod We check & adjust the Nut height We check the Nut slots We check & adjust the saddle height We check the frets for any issues We check for buzz on open strings We play a few extreme bends We play a few scales and chords We stretch the strings and re-tune the guitar We check the intonation If it has electronics on-board, we test them If it has a tuner, we check that too. We check the Pots and switches We check the pickup height We check any push/pull pots We check the Jack plug fits properly We check the strap button We check the Machine heads are working properly We check the Tremolo arm if its fitted. We polish the body We polish the neck and headstock And finally we check all the bits that should come with it are there… The guitar ships in a gig bag as you have noted but is shipped in an outer carton that is designed for protection and also the package is insured against damage. I hope this answers your questions but if you need any more information please contact me either by email or phone. My details are below. Thank You Stu Tel: 01204 474747 Email: [email protected]
