Genelec 8030BActive Monitor (Matt Black)
The 8030B features the rounded edges Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE™).
This means the edges of the cabinet have been rounded so as not to 'catch' the sound waves as they leave the speaker.
Advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW™).
This is a specially developed smooth shaped surface within the enclosure. Both On and Off Axis, the sound is very flat because of this specially maximised area. It helps get rid of Early room reflections and other problems that colour the sound in normal designs.
The Reflex Port.
This is something that Genelec have designed to allow the low frequencies to extend downwards, and allows the speakers to deliver a higher Sound Pressure Level. It's a long, curving tube that allows more air to circulate,( flow optimized) which in turn allows deeper basses with little or no compression, and it ends with a wide span adding to the Bass definition
8030B features Genelec Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS™) circuitry which switches the monitor to standby when no audio input is detected (ErP 2013 Directive).
Features • Minimum Diffraction Enclosure delivers focused nearfield sound.
• High performance reflex port design delivers extended low.
• High audio output plus low distortion equals killer clarity.
• Protected by Genelec's ISS power management system.
