FGN Guitars - JOS-FM-G Trans Red Burst
FROM JAPAN'S PREMIER GUITAR MANUFACTURERFrom Japan’s premier guitar manufacturer FGN, comes the stunning 'JOS-FM-G' in a striking Trans-Red Burst.
Utilising a classic body shape, with outstanding components and a humbucker/single coil/single coil pickup configuration which makes for fantastic versatility in tone, the JOS-FM-G represents a excellent harmony between traditional and modern guitar design and is the culmination of decades upon decades of experience in the industry.
The esteemed Fujigen factory’s beginnings began in 1960 in Matsumoto, Japan, and rapidly gained the respect of the guitar world for the classic and iconic guitars they expertly crafted for well-known and notorious brands, particularly noted for the outstanding craftsmanship and attention to detail which far outweighed the counterparts of the day.
Decades upon Decades of Guitar Expertise
50+ Years at the Top of the Industry
Part of FGN’s ‘Odyssey’ series, the FGN ‘JOS-FM-G’ sports a elegant ‘Trans Red Burst’ finish, a wonderfully smooth and easy-playing 22-fret maple fretboard, a Seymour Duncan pickups in the bridge, middle and neck position, FGN’s patented CFS (Circle Fretting System) topped off with GOTOH SD91-05M machineheads and chrome/nickel hardware.
From the very moment you pick up this guitar, it’s clear that an incredible amount of time, care and passion has gone into crafting the very best instrument FGN could. From the small details which may not be apparent at first glance, such as the slightly curved frets which help with intonation issues and allow for easier bends, right through to the inclusion of high-grade pickups, FGN's expertise gained from 50+ years in the business is evident in every inch of this guitar.
Patented 'Circle Fret System'
Greater sustain and truer harmonics
The Odyssey - JOS-FM-G features FGN’s patented ‘Circle Fretting System’. A technology whereby the slightly curved frets are mounted to ensure that each string and fret intersects at right angles as to minimize the contact surface. This results in accurate pitch, greater sustain and truer harmonics.
The frets themselves are medium sized frets, making it easier to fret the notes themselves as this requires a little less pressure when fretting the note and also allows for speedier playing styles, particularly when higher up the neck.
Seymour Duncan Pickups
QUALITY COMPONENTS FROM TOP TO BOTTOM
FGN fitted the Odyssey - JOS-FM-G with seriously high-end pickups, in the bridge position is a ‘JB™ Trembucker TB-4’. Built around an alnico 5 bar magnet, the TB-4 is a truly fantastic all-rounder, from face-melting high-gain metal tones, to jangly clean's, the TB-4's tight low-end and high-end rich in harmonics add huge character and versatility to the Odyssey - JOS-FM-G.
A Seymour Duncan SSL-1 occupies the middle position, and offers a wonderfully traditional and authentic single coil sound, think 'chimey' and 'bell-like' tones, perfect for when you need to cut through the mix.
In the neck position is a ‘STK-S4N’, a stacked pickup comprised of two overlapping coils which work to eliminate hum and noise. This pickup sounds just beautiful in the neck position, providing a warm, thick and creamy tone.
An Exemplary Guitar...
...from an exemplary guitar company
If you’ve ever tried a top-end, Japanese built guitar, the chances are that you’ve already played an FGN guitar. The amount of respect and admiration FGN commands from the guitar industry stems from their history as an OEM manufacturer for the most respected brands in the world.
On FGN’s 50th anniversary, the company decided to start building their own instruments, allowing them to have more creative freedom in guitar design, whilst using their expert knowledge gained from decades of building some of the worlds best guitars, and the result is this, the magnificent JOS-FM-G from FGN.
