'The Best just got Better!'A modern vision of the solid body guitar from where it all began, the American Performer Stratocaster from Fender packs all the features that made the Strat such an icon, and then some! Due to the inclusion of a humbucker in the bridge, the American Performer Strat boasts a vast tonal range. You’ll find a pair of Fender’s Yosemite single-coils, featuring flat-staggered pole pieces to further the overall output – which deliver all the timeless Strat chime and high-end, whilst the red-hot ‘DoubleTap’ humbucker is ready and waiting to let rip in the bridge position.
Fender included a useful push-pull control knob enabling you to split the humbucker to further extend the tonal range of this magnificently versatile Stratocaster. The second of the two-tone pots activates Fender’s ‘Greasebucket’ master tone circuit, this is a method of rolling off the high-end, all whilst not reducing gain. Not to be outdone by such marvellous and innovative electronics, Fender’s American Performer Stratocaster, as you’d expect, boasts all the spectacular comfort and playability you’d naturally expect from a US Stratocaster!

Versatile Sonic Power
‘Greasebucket’ master tone circuitFender outfitted the American Performer Stratocaster series with a pair of Yosemite single-coil pickups in both the neck and middle positions, topped off with a DoubleTap humbucker in the bridge position. It’s all here, from bell-like highs to roaring red hot shred, these pickups deliver on all fronts!
This versatile sonic power is controlled via a classic 5-way blade pickup selector. It’s possible to split the humbucker to further the tonal range with a quick push/pull mechanism on the tone knob. The bridge tone pot activates the ‘Greasebucket’ master tone circuit, this cuts the high end, but never reduces gain. A seriously cool feature to see on a Strat!
Classic Stratocaster Hardware
vintage-style tremoloThe electronics on the American Performer series will hold a very strong appeal to the modern guitarist, however the included hardware is going to be very familiar to traditional Fender fanatics. Featuring a 6-screw vintage-style tremolo, this trem system allows you to add everything from a gentle warble, right through to hardcore EVH-style divebombs!
Further up the neck, you’ll find Fender’s American Performer machine heads, each of which serve up a highly responsive and smooth feel for accurate and importantly, reliable tuning.
