American Original ‘50s Telecaster
TRUE TO THE CLASSIC
TELECASTERS OF THE LATE '50S!The ultimate blue-collar guitar, the Telecaster launched a musical revolution upon its initial release. Quickly adopted by working guitarists who were enamored with its trend-setting sound, feel and unique style, the Telecaster laid the foundation for modern country, blues and even heavy metal (in Jimmy Page’s hands). The American Original ‘50s Telecaster has all of the authentic Fender touches that made the Telecaster a star of the studio and stage, adding modern feel and pickup switching to this classic guitar!
• Ash body with lacquer finish
• Two Pure Vintage ‘52 single-coil Telecaster pickups
• Thick "U”-shaped neck profile; 9.5”-radius fingerboard
• Vintage-style hardware; Telecaster bridge with three brass barrel saddles
• Includes vintage-style hardshell case
Vintage '50s Rock n Roll!
'Pure Vintage 52' Single-Coil PickupsIn order to remain true to the timeless sound of the authentic ‘50s Telecasters, Fender equipped the American Original ‘50s Telecaster with the Pure Vintage ’52 Single-Coils. This is as close to the originals as it’s possible to get!
Everything here is period-correct, right from the enamel-coated coil wire and cloth-covered output wires, to the fibre bobbins and alnico 3 magnets. These magnificent pickups are incredibly true to the originals back in the day.
Fender kitted the American Original ‘50s Telecaster with a 3-saddle vintage-style Tele bridge, complete with brass saddles, just like the real thing. Thanks to the strings-through body design of the bridge, the sustain on offer here is simply incredible!
Authentic '50s Craftsmanship!
1952 ‘U’ shape neck profileFender chose to use Ash wood for the body of the American Original ‘50s Telecaster, and due to its iconic single cutaway design, the access to the higher registers is completely unhindered.
The maple neck features a 1952 ‘U’ shape profiling, which comfortably fills the fretting hand and also features a modern 9.5” radius spread across a maple fretboard which also sports Vintage Tall size frets. A fine nod to this Telecaster’s fantastic history.
Another excellent addition to this fantastic Telecaster is the inclusion of a nitrocellulose lacquer finish. This finish allows the body wood to breathe naturally with singing resonant tone, but importantly, also aging in a unique and appealing manner.
Why Choose The American Original ‘50s Telecaster?
AMERICAN ORIGINAL SERIES When you choose Fender, you choose the best. For over 70 years the Fender Telecaster has been one of the most iconic and recognisable electric guitars around, for both it's sonic qualities and it's aesthetic. Take a look below at just some of the standout features of this magnificent piece of rock history!
FINISHThe nitrocellulose lacquer finish not only lets the body breathe with its true tonal character, it also ages and wears in a distinctively personal way.
‘52 PICKUPSAmerican Original instruments feature specially voiced pickups crafted to reproduce the authentic sound and performance of individual model years.
NECK SHAPEThis Telecaster features a “U”-shaped neck profile for the substantial fret-hand feel typical of instruments from our original decade.
AND NECK RADIUSOriginal-era fans can rest assured every curve and line of the body and neck are accurate to the historic originals.
HARDWAREFrom the bridge to the string tree and tuning machines, every piece of hardware is just like the original.
& FRETSThis 9.5”-radius fingerboard is slightly flatter than a vintage-style 7.25” radius, providing a comfortable fret-hand feel. Vintage-tall frets make it easier to bend notes without fretting out.
