Product Overview The problem with most monitors and doing high quality editing work in video or photography and using digital art programs, is that the colours on the machine are never truly represented on screen. For basic work and those who believe in trust, this is fine, but your work deserves better.

The EIZO 27" CG279X is a self-calibrating monitor, so that you always have the best view of what colours are currently being displayed. A small device will move itself up to the screen and using the included software or your own calibrating software that it supports, it will ensure that your screen is never off when showing you the 1.07 billion colours available.

If there's more than one CG279X on your network, you can apply these settings to other screens through the packaged software, ColorNavigator X, which will share these settings across the network, saving you time and effort from having to recalibrate them.

This is perfect for those who are colour correcting, as there's no second guessing whether it's going to come out right on the other end.

With a True Black display and a 2560 x 1440 resolution, this screen is top of the line in more ways than just calibration. It also comes with a guard to place around the screen, fending off sources of light that might cause glare.

If you're not comfortable with how it's currently positioned, the EIZO CG279X comes with a stand that can be adjusted in any way you want, to maximise comfort and usability during your task. Features • 27" In-Plane Switching (IPS) Panel.

PC monitor manufacturers tend to focus on a particular buzzword or acronym almost every year. In the past, we have been treated to HD (high definition), denoting the screen is capable of running a minimum 720p resolution.

Choosing a monitor is not an easy decision to make, and not just because of the large number of variations in resolution, refresh rates, sizes and connectivity options. There are also varying panel technologies used to form each display that need to be considered. These panel technologies can be grouped into three broad categories which cover the vast majority of monitors sold in the consumer market.

Whether the broadcasters are going HD or not, TV sets and projectors are arriving thick and fast which claim to support higher resolutions than regular telly. But HDTV is far from just one standard – it incorporates a couple of different resolutions, two different scanning modes, and a number of different frame rates. There’s a lot more to High Definition than just having the ability to run your screen at the right resolution. With more than one type of connection available, and the thorny subject of signal encryption to contend with, just because your monitor and graphics are capable of 1,920 x 1,080 or better does not necessarily mean they will be able to display HDTV in all its glory.
