Binaural Headset Microphone
DPA - '4560 Core'
immersive sound recordingThe immersive ‘4560 Core’ Binaural Headset Mic from DPA Microphones, is in essence, a pair of ‘4060 Core’ Miniature Omnidirectional Microphones which sit upon two earhooks. The mics are a stereo pair, dual hand-selected ‘4060’s, selected on sensitivity within +1.5.db.
The headset itself has been ergonomically designed to ensure a comfortable fit which can be worn over long durations of time. It easily adjusts to comfortably fit any ear size or head shape, whilst at the same time, maintains a secure fit and is easily hidden from view. Foam windscreens are supplied with the mics to secure the position in the ear and to limit wind noise.

Binaural Recording Techniques
an immersive listening experienceThe binaural recording technique found in the ‘4560’, takes the principle of placing mics on a human head. The mic position is either just on the edge of each ear canal, or, at the bottom of the ear canal closer to the eardrum.
When you reproduce the recording and listen using headphones, the stereo image is seriously immersive and is very much akin to almost ‘being there’.
Get The Perfect Fit!
Adjusting frame size Before making any adjustments to the frame size, it’s first necessary to loosen the braided sleeving which covers the cable. Remove the clothing clip, grab the bottom of the sleeving and pull it gently upwards, smoothing it up the entire length of the cable to make it loose at the top.
To increase the frame size, hold the cable and frame behind the earhooks and slowly pull the earhooks away from each other to the desired size.
To decrease the frame size, hold the coils on the headset frame and slowly pull them away from each other to the desired size.
After making the frame adjustments, starting from the top, smooth the entire sleeving back down the cable. Replace the clothing clip.
