Double-H DH-GB-ML Solar Powered Bluetooth GPS Receiver works with all Navigation Software is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job as advertised. The unit works as expected. There are, unfortunately, no drivers available for my Windows 8 or 10 tablets from either Microsoft or the device maker, so I had to install a third party Bluetooth connected COM port emulator to use it. Battery life is acceptable at in excess of 12 hours continuous operation, and after a full day of use in daylight, it only takes an hour or so to reach full charge using either of the chargers supplied.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work with iPad Mini. Maybe I missed the small print, but it doesn't work with my iPad Mini, despite upgrading the iPad software. I guess its all in the definitions of Bluetooth that iPad has been tested with. It doesn't recognise the device, let alone pair with it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Brilliant; but not (as stated) 'with all Navigation Software' Using Windows 10 and HERE maps, this receiver was fast to register satellites and very accurate. It seems well designed and built and is easy to use. The solar function should be a great benefit on long journeys. Unfortunately, I had to return it to Scan as it did not work with Autoroute running on Windows 10. That is a failing of Windows 10 which does not recognise 'classic applications' (such as Autoroute) in the Location function. I could not speak more highly of Scan in their handling of my problem and, when they recognised that there was no solution, they promptly accepted a return.

Questions & Answers

How do I get a bluetooth connection under Windows 10?

I bought this to use with a tablet which has Windows 10. I can pair the device and it even connects momentarily but then goes back to showing 'paired'. Has anyone got this to connect properly under Windows 10 and stay connected - if so, how?
Asked by: FlyingKiwi
Using GMaps or the MS mapping software, I connect using gpscomplete software by turboirc, which is, in part, a Bluetooth serial port emulator. When it is run, this installs a BTGPS port carrying the NMEA information the unit provides on its Bluetooth output, which then feeds into the Windows Location Service that the mapping programs use. Note, however, that the unit will only connect to the computer when the mapping software is running and requesting location information, and even then, Windows Bluetooth will only show it as paired, not connected. I use this unit with a Windows 10 tablet all day on the coach, and now I've set up the connection as described above, it "just works", though on rare occasions, the connection goes wrong, so I reboot the tablet and the unit.
