DJI are one of the companies at the forefront of this evolution into the next stage of industry, media and other public sectors, like search and rescue or agriculture. Drones are allowing inspections to be carried out without endangering staff, with multiple options for even more specific needs being available, from thermal imaging, clear 30x optical zoom for close ups and artificial intelligence.
The DJI Phantom is iconic within consumer drones, being an easy entry point for beginners to the drone market and being a solid drone when you’re even at an advanced level. With its 4K camera underneath, the Phantom 4 RTK is perfect for smaller operations without going to the lengths to get into massive, expensive alternate drones.
The Phantom 4 Pro prides itself on its 4K Camera, which with its 1-inch image sensor blows other drone cameras out of the water. It allows for a lot more light to be taken in, giving you a higher quality shot over other consumer level drones. The sensor is also four time bigger than previous models, also boasts a maximum ISO of 12800. Collecting information and data via DJI's Phantom 4 line brings in higher quality images (a Ground Sample Distance of 2.74cm at 100m altitude) that can make things like surveying far easier to look over after the fact.
While not the newest on the market, it’s not rendered obsolete by the fact that it’s a couple years old, but actually still holds its own, especially with the mechanical shutter, giving you more control over your shot and eliminating rolling shutter distortion.
With OcuSync, you'll get a clear image from a fair distance (7km away) so that even when working on larger sites, you'll never be in the dark as to what the drone is collecting.
The RTK wouldn't be a great choice if it didn't support 3rd party apps the way it does. Plug in an iOS or Android device and take advantage of the SDK-enabled apps for the full Phantom 4 RTK power.
A new DJI GS RTK app and Remote Controller with built-in screen, giving users a streamlined control scheme for surveying missions and other data acquisition scenarios.
The GS RTK app allows pilots to intelligently control their Phantom 4 RTK, with two planning modes – Photogrammetry and Waypoint Flight – alongside a more traditional flight mode.
Support your Phantom 4 RTK missions with the D-RTK 2 Mobile Station – providing real-time differential data to the drone and forming an accurate surveying solution. The Mobile Station’s rugged design and OcuSync 2.0 transmission system ensures you can gain centimeter-level accurate data with your Phantom 4 RTK in any condition.

An unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV), better known as a drone, is a type of aircraft that is controlled remotely and is therefore flown without a human in the cockpit. Drones come in all shapes and sizes, from military UAVs primed for reconnaissance and missile deployment through to civilian drones for applications as varied as aerial photography, product deliveries, and keeping tabs on agriculture and livestock.
