The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by A good case that doesn't look too flash Purchased this case when building a new PC. Wanted something a little smaller that the tower case I had, but with well organised space inside. Despite being smaller than the old case it takes my H60 liquid cooler easily, which my bigger case would not without modification. All the internal edges are well finished and the case feels rigid without being too heavy. I like the Power, Reset and headphone jacks being on the front, many cases put these on the top, and as my PC sits in a slot in my desk would be unuseable there. Cooling seems good with an upgraded 140mm fan at the front and the original 120mm fan on the top blowing outwards, noticeably quieter than my old case with two 120mm fans. 16 February 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good case, excellent for fitting my massive gpu inside! Overall for the price this case is very hard to beat when comparing it to other mid tower cases, yes there are others which are better but for the price this one is the best by far it has a dust proof mesh and the front of the case where you can put two 140mm or 120mm fans inside to prevent ant dust from entering your case my two led blue nzxt 140mm fitted perfectly it has a two 120mm on the top and 1 120mm at the back and the window is perfect for showing off your gpu and water cooling if you have on for your cpu also the blue led on the power button and a led strip above the power button is a nice touch! very good job indeed corsair! 17 October 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Corsair Carbide SPEC-01 case review This is another quality case from Corsair, which for the price delivers nearly on all grounds. The only criticism i have is 2 things - (1) Need more depth at the back of the case where the Mobo attaches to for easier power cable routing. (2) Need greater space clearance at the top of the Mobo screw fixings, this is to install fans easier as you have to remove them to install Mobo. Just an extra 2cm in height would have made a great ease of installation, with a possible inlet for 12v EPS CPU power. But for the price you are paying, you could get the same niggles on cases costing nearly twice the price. 09 October 2014
