good quality, great sound. only downside is the only shock mount for it costs more than half the price of the actual product

I'm not a huge audiophile, nor do I know a whole lot beyond some basics about setting things up for recording,
But what I can say as a gamer and infrequent streamer is that the Yeti is a high quality, reasonably priced bit of kit.
It comes well packaged, and the build quality is top notch (I do have the tiniest bit of flaking on part of the base but its hardly noticeable).
Its quartet of pattern settings make it versatile and useful for a range of applications, though I generally use cardioid for voice communication and gaming.
Its pretty sensitive, and while it does have some foam-ish pads on the base I'd recommend placing it on a dampening material if you're going to have it on the same surface as an in-use keyboard.
For those who are more involved/discerning about their set-up, it has a standard (I can't remember the measurement) screw mount on the bottom if you want to remove the stand and stick it on something else like a shock mount.
So yeah, as a gamer and infrequent streamer I'd definitely recommend the Yeti.

Rated 5 out of 5 by creedist Excellent microphone with a lot of features
I found the plug and play functionality of this mic very useful. The different patterns are clearly defined and work well, so not just a gimmick, and greatly increase the possible applications for this mic. The sound quality is great, it sounds clear, is very sensitive and has a large gain if needed. The build quality is good, the majority of the mic and stand being metal, the buttons and dials being plastic is the criticism I have on that aspect. The value for money is good when compared to an XLR with the same specs but the high price of peripherals because of it's propriety size is annoying. Overall though it's a really solid bit of kit.
