Notably, it is the SSL 4000 series console which has sparked creativity amongst generations of musicians, producers and engineers thanks to its indisputable analogue mojo.
The SSL2 delivers the iconic 4000 series sound into your own studio with the Legacy 4K feature, which, with just the push of a button, imparts the preamps with 2 important characteristics of the 4000 series signal chain. The very first thing you’ll notice is a musical, high-frequency EQ boost that pushes the vocal/instrument track further forward in the sound field, for a deeper, richer sonic profile with greater dimensional qualities.
For smaller format recording interfaces, nothing comes close to the Legacy 4K button found on the SSL2.

Start recording right awayTo ensure you can start recording straight from the box, Solid State Logic shipped the SSL2 with an extensive production suite, including 3rd party software from Avid, Ableton and Native Instruments, and well over 1.5GB of samples from Loopcloud.
As if all this wasn’t enough, the SSL2 is bundled with dual SSL Native channel strips: Vocalstrip 2 and Drumstrip. With Vocalstrip’s four vocal-specific processors — De-esser, De-ploser, 3-Band EQ, and Compander, it’s easier than ever to gain an articulate and powerful vocal sound. Drumstrip delivers 5 handpicked processing tools — including transient shaper, drum gate, high- and low-frequency enhancers, and the classic Listen Mic compressor — to add clarity, punch, and heft to any drum recording.
Warm Audio - WA-87 R2 Condenser Microphone
An Updated & Upgraded ClassicIn 2016, Warm Audio introduced one of the most talked-about 87-style FET condenser microphones in the industry with the release of the WA-87, it made the looks and authentic vintage sonics of this style of mic affordable to customers for the very first time. Simply put, the release of the WA-87 changed the industry's perception of what could be achieved at an affordable price.
Based on classic 60s circuitry, the WA-87's rich sound became a favorite of countless producers, engineers, and home recordists everywhere. It was our first microphone and a verifiable hit, and in recent years we've followed it with many other successful and ground-breaking designs.
Since the release of the WA-87 in 2016 Warm Audio learned a bunch more about microphone manufacturing, and have proven that they can beat the industry's quality expectations at affordable prices. That experience drove them to see if they could improve the WA-87 in tangible ways without having to raise the price, and the result is the new WA-87 R2 (Revision 2). Warm Audio have used everything they learned about recreating vintage microphones in the last five years to bring it even closer to the sound, vibe and performance of the original 60s classic we all know and love. Excellent Components Make Excellent Microphones
Warm Audio’s WA-87 R2 is comprised of exceptional components, not often found in mic’s found in this price range. For example, Fairchild’s FET’s, tantalum, polystyrene and WIMA film capacitors, topped off with a CineMag USA output transformer. WA’s WA-87 R2 uses it’s own WA-87-B-50V custom capsule styled on the K87 dual backplate/dual diaphragm capsule found in the much sought after classic 87 microphones.
What Can The WA-87 R2 Do For You?
In every studio, you should find a pair (if not more) of top drawer large-diaphragm condenser microphones. Warm Audio’s WA-87 R2 takes inspiration from one of the most iconic. It can turn it’s hand to almost anything, and always produce world beating results. Make a vocal part stand out in the mix, make those floors tom’s shake the room.
