Chassis Airflow
Chassis Airflow
Date Issued: 20th Oct 2008

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Reasonable price... i built a system comprising of a h100i GTX cooler it only just fit with a squeeze and removing the rear fan because of the radiator pipes not fitting otherwise and a Gigabyte 970 GTX i had to remove one of the Hard drive cages to fit that. Cooling performance was ok not brilliant i found that the front cover really did let down the front fans blocking any potential air. i did like the little thing to help guide the motherboard in while it was being screwed into place. it runs smoothly now i dont overclock my processor temperature sits around 25-30c the ambient temperature in the room is around 24c Im using an i7 5820k at stock speeds. 08 August 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best case I like getting over-clocked bundles from Scan and then selecting the case and the other bits and pieces myself. I have been doing this for years, both for my own use and for my colleagues'. Noise is very important to me (silent graphics, low-noise fans and power supply). This is the first one with this case and I am very impressed. Build quality is excellent and the little things are superb, e.g. location of the power switch, how SSD's can be mounted on the back. Only slight criticism, it's a bit big. 17 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great case, bit pricey Really nice stylish case. The build quality is really good which may explain the price of this case as it a little more than its competitiors. Not as quiet as some of other cases in the same range i.e the fractal design R4 or the corsair carbide 330R but it is still very quiet and does offer more fan spaces and IMO looks a lot better. The only way this could be improved is better radiator support for water cooling and the price being put down to around the £80 mark. 11 December 2014
