In-line germanium microphone preamp
Triton Audio’s ‘FetHead Germanium’ is a professional in-line mic preamp. It delivers a punch and direct, ‘larger than life’ germanium sound for your ribbon and dynamic microphone collection, adding those revered germanium harmonics. With such a full and rich sound, it’s highly reminiscent of much more expensive vintage gear, which makes the FetHead Ge a wise and desirable addition to your studios gear.
classic Germanium flavourGermanium transistors have been widely used ever since the earliest transistor designs by Neve, EMI, Telefunken and Fairchild, and have rightly developed a reputation for a decidedly vintage mojo, which remains highly sought after even to this day. Triton Audio created a novel hybrid circuit which consists of low noise JFETS’s and a hand-selected ‘new old stock’ germanium transistor to take full advantage of the classic ‘germanium sound’, whilst at the same time achieve Triton Audio’s signature sonic quality.
