NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 ROG Strix Graphics Card from ASUS

TAKE FLIGHT WITH THE LATEST GPU TECHNOLOGY The ROG Strix GeForce RTX™ 3090 has been drastically improved to house the revolutionary new Ampere chips from NVIDIA and to deliver the next generation of gaming performance. This state-of-the-art fresh design uses more metal surrounds and a grouping of Axial-tech fans. Last gen's uniform fan layout has been usurped by a new rotation scheme and specialised roles for central and auxiliary fans. Below the blades lies a larger, more impressive heatsink that's ready for the most demanding thermal loads. The PCB also has some new tricks, and even the backplate has some new performance-boosting changes. This is the latest and greatest in GPU design.

Axial-Tech Fan Upgrades
Extra Surface Area for Extra Cooling ASUS ROG Strix have re-optimised to suit a new larger heatsink that features more fins than previous generations, upgrades have also been made to the fans themselves, with the auxillary fans now boasting 11 blades and the main central fan housing 13. The barrier ring on the side of the axial tech fans has been slimmed down to increase lateral intake amd to give the cooling array an optimised airflow whilst also boosting static pressure to physically blast air directly onto the GPU heat spreader.
Keep Cool - Sub 55° GPU Temperatures
Each Fan has its own role By keeping the rotational direction of the auxillary fans the same and having the central fan spin the opposite direction, ASUS ROG STRIX have reduced the turbulence inside the cooling array to boost the card's overall thermal performance. The sum of all of these innovative upgrades results in lower fan speeds and raises the performance threshold of the ROG STRIX 3090 achieving a sub-55 degree GPU temperature at which the fans will shut off completely to give you silent performance.
Maximum Contact for Maximum Cooling

Polished and Fine-tuned for Maximum PerformanceIn order to ensure maximum benefit from the upgraded axial-fan design ASUS have incorporated a new manufacturing process that polishes the surface of the heat-spreader down to a microscopic level. The even surface allows for maximum contact with the die and improved thermal transfer.
A Larger Footprint than Previous Generations

Enlarged Heatsink DesignThe heat spreader draws heat up into heatpipes that carry it through a fin stack that fills a large 2.9-slot footprint. Increasing the heatsink size compared to the last generation provides more thermal headroom to account for the new high-performance chipset
Improved PCB Features

Premium ComponentsAs to be expected from a premium brand like ASUS ROG Strix, top-shelf capacitors, chokes and MOSFETs have been used to effortlessly deliver large amounts of power at a Milliseconds notice. The Super Alloy Power II are soldered to the PCB using the amazing Auto-Extreme automated manufacturing process, allowing human error to be removed from the process ensuring each graphics card meets rigorous specifications.

Fanconnect IIThe rear of the ROG Strix graphics card sports two PWM FanConnect headers that provide additional DIY flexibility. Chassis fans can be directly attached to the GPU and tuned with a curve that is based on CPU or GPU temperature, providing extra intake or exhaust for demanding 3D tasks.
Updated Shroud Design is Both Functional and Beautiful

Not Just a Pretty FaceIn addition to under-the-hood design changes, the ROG Strix features a new face with metal accents that mirror the design aesthetic of ROG and ROG Strix motherboards. Mixing surface textures and materials make a statement when vertically mounted and lit by chassis LEDs. For those who prefer a sleeker, more subtle look, the greyscale colorway allows it to seamlessly blend into the build. Combine this with the careful attention that has been paid to a new addressable RGB element that can be customised with Armoury Crate to create a uniform look along with other ROG components and with 3 8-pin power connectors are present, along with an onboard circuit that monitors PSU rail voltage. The circuit is fast enough to catch any transients that result in the rail voltage dropping too low. If that happens, a red LED will light up to indicate a power supply issue.
