Product Overview You love your headphones but hate your microphone; its signal is either too quiet or too noisy.

You need a boom microphone but don’t want the headphones that come with it…

The ModMic originated from this dilemma. We created the attachable / detachable boom microphone clasp and source only the best components for the job. Like many of our customers, we like gaming, Hi-Fi audio, and a boom microphone that doesn’t get in our way. We take pride in minimal yet function-centered design. Features Product specs:
• Jack: 3.5mm plated TRS for use with PCs (can work on powered Mac/Xbox headset jacks with proper adapter (Macs will need a USB adapter)-- we're still working on final results for Xbox One (no solid solution yet) and PS4 (works but sounds strange at times) via CTIA jack)
• Cable: 3.3 meters length, 2.5 mm diameter, coaxial shielding, mute button ~150mm from end of boom (about shirt pocket height)
• Boom: 175mm max length, very bendable with internal steel spine
• Clasp: 12.7mm (0.5 inch) diameter circle adhesive pad footprint, ~17.5mm total height of attached clasp assembly.

Microphone capsule specs:
• Pattern: Uni-directional
• Sensitivity: -38 ± 3 dB
• Response: 100 Hz–10 kHz
• SNR: >50+ dB
• Impedance: 2.2 KO
• Operating Voltage: 1 to 10V

Rated 5 out of 5 by Great addition to my headphones This product is great, it allows you to turn a good pair of headphones into a high quality headset. As I already owned several pairs of good headphones (Sennheiser HD555 and NAD HP50) I really didn't want to shell out for a good headset just so I can use teamspeak whilst playing online. With this I am able to use my expensive headphones and get a great quality microphone for a reasonable price. Installing it is a doddle and can even be switched between headphones as you get two mounting points in the pack. The quality of the microphone is really great, although I had to remember to turn down the gain in windows settings after previously using a cheap desk mounted mic! 15 March 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great mic for chatting This is EXACTLY the mic I need to go with my expensive headphones. I can get a mic with much better quality for the same price of a headset. Really happy with the quality of the mic. Installation is very easy. Just orient the mic, find the right spot on your headphones, then stick the base clasp to the headphones. The mic is the top clasp with a piece of magnet that attach to the base clasp. If you want to remove the mic just detach the top clasp. Just a notice, you should buy this muteless version instead of the one w/ mute button. From the reviews I've read, the mute button is very prone to failure and make the whole mic useless. If you want to mute the mic, just use a shortcut key instead. 09 February 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by A good mic if your headphones don't have a mic I have Sennheisers headphone which doesn't have a microphone and I looked around for an alternative which was cheap and has a good quality microphone and this is that microphone 15 November 2015
