Intel Branding Part I
Intel Branding Part I
Date Issued: 1st Jul 2009

Intel’s been on a mission of late. That mission revolves around grouping and standardising key technologies under various banners that are designed to ensure hardware compatibility and consumer ease of use. We’ll take a closer look at three such technologies that fall under the headings of Centrino, Viiv, and vPro, respectively.

The modern PC is potentially a mass of heat output and heat production hot spots. With CPUs rated at more than 100W of heat output, single graphics boards carrying similar ratings (and people want to run two!), multiple hard drives the norm, lots of memory and mainboards covered in heatpipes to combat toasty core logic and PWM circuits, a PC appreciably warming up a room when it’s working hard is no joke.

Antec A30 Dual Heatpipe CPU Cooler for Intel & AMD CPU's, 92mm Blue LED Fan, Straight Touch Technology is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not a fan for a modern pc With only two heat pipes this isn't good for anything but basic processors. On top of that the fan isn't pwm so it will run at full speed even with the computer idle. The fan on mine ran at 2250rpn so it's also more audible than the spec would indicate though it isn't loud.
Date published: 2020-07-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very quiet This cooler is very quiet. The blue light on it is nice too.

is the fan a 3 0r 4 pin type? thanks
Asked by: alsmith
It's 3 pin, so it will report rpm but won't be speed controlled by main board.
