Product Overview

No Limits to Creativity

The Alphacool ice ball reservoir with integrated pump top presents itself in a unique design. The unprecedented spherical shape opens up countless new opportunities, especially in the modding field. From static, monochromatic lighting to the R2D2 mod, there are really no limits to creativity here. Another special feature of this version is that the pump is already pre-installed. Alphacool uses the proven ice pump VPP755.

Unique Design and Excellent Lighting

Unlike traditional expansion tanks, the Alphacool ice-ball presents itself in an unprecedented spherical design. The 22 digital RGB LEDs, which once completely run around in a chrome ring around the equator of the ice ball provide versatile and optimal lighting. Of course, the device comes with a digital RGB controller which you can customize the style and lighting of your ice ball individually.

Versatile Mounting Options

Do not be limited to a single mounting option! The included adhesive mat and 2 different mounting plates make it possible to realise many different installation ideas, whether on the radiator, the fan slots, or a 2.5" SSD slot. Alternatively, the proven universal Alphacool pump mounting can be used. In conjunction with the VPP755, the Alphacool Ice Ball can even be operated upside down, however, only and exclusively with the Alphacool VPP755 pump. Standard Laing D5 pumps can not be operated upside down due to the spherical bearing.

Where is the Pump?

The pump disappears completely inside the ice ball. It is inserted from below into the ice ball and fixed with a special pump holder. All Alphacool's own D5 pumps, such as the VPP655 and VPP755, and all original Laing D5 pumps are suitable for installation.

Is the Ice Ball Silent?

In ice ball, the pump is completely inside the container, and is thus completely enclosed by the water. The water acts as additional sound insulation. The enclosed decouplers also reduce the vibration transmission to a minimum. All in all a real silent product!

Note: The ice ball can also be operated upside down with the VPP755 pump. However, only with the VPP755.With all other Laing D5 pumps like the VPP655 this is not possible due to the spherical bearing.

Watercooling
Watercooling
Date Issued: 19th Jun 2008

Watercooling for the PC has been around for years in some form or another, for at least as long as Scan have been in business, with basic physics defining why you want to use it. That means for air cooling, to cope with increasing temperature in the heatsink you need to move the air across it faster. That is why thermostatically controlled fans in your PC will turn faster the hotter something gets.
