I gather some people have had problems with this fan controller, I have not. The 3 speed settings plus off work just fine. I wanted a white face controller and they are hard to find so took the chance with this item. It works, it look good so I'm happy. The USB etc is all a bit pointless for me but it's there and can be plugged into either USB 2 or 3.
I would suggest anybody buying this controller makes sure their fans aren't using over the stated watt limit. And if the controller still doesn't adjust the fan speeds then return it as it sound faulty.
Would I buy it again. If I had a choice of white faced controllers then maybe, but maybe not if there was something better. If I didn't care about the colour then I think there are better fan controllers to be bought.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Lex8P It's just a fancy memory card reader that doesn't control fan speed
I was so excited to use this when I installed it last night, however, disappointment set in very quickly after.
If you're aim is to buy a fan controller... Don't buy this if you actually want a fan controller
This does not control your fan speeds as it says on the tin. No matter what settings you select (low, medium or high), your fans are either off, or they are at maximum. I've tried this controller in 4 pc's in the house, with many different fan brands and none can be controlled.
If you select low - Selected fan goes off, to maybe do a twitch (it doesn't spin).
Medium and high - Full speed.
Off - Off.
Off and then low - Full speed.
Unfortunately, I'm not the only one who has had this issue. All in depth reviews I have read describe the same problem.
Other than the fan issues, it's a pretty card reader.
Easy to install, however the instructions appear to have been written by a 5 year old.
Single USB 3 port requires a full USB3 header available - If you have a tiny motherboard, then it's best you don't sacrifice your existing 2 USB 3 ports for your front I/O - I like that you have a choice whether to use it or not.
